From a Hog/SEC/ basketball fan.

Is this board now not open to fans of other teams simply giving an opinion? The person was not disrespecting the program or this team. He simply gave his opinion and the actual stats on Koby. Why bombard the guy?
There is a certain sniveling sarcasm that’s fairly evident with rival posters. Then an ignorance when they are called out for it. Go sell crazy somewhere else, we’re all booked up here

Some things just stay the same…

The difference is, I believe that by the end of the year Drew will have Baylor molded into a pretty good team . I don’t believe the guy coaching Arkansas will do that . In fact, I won’t be surprised if they have regressed.
Arkansas will definitely be a better team once Davis and Aidoo are fully healthy (may have won last night with a 100% Aidoo) but I do worry about wearing down toward the end of the season. Cal only going with a 9-man roster (of those getting NIL anyway) may come back to bite him. A little surprised he didn’t play the rest of the roster even in the exhibitions just to see if they could be surprise contributors. Don’t think anyone thought Theiro would be as good as he is now when he first got to UK.

How did we beat Ole Miss?

This right here. Our defensive scheme is their kryptonite. The offense actually did their job for once and held onto the ball forever. We ate the clock and pressured Dart.

Still it took a perfect game from us and an absolutely off day from them to pull out the win.
That is what makes college football so great. Anything can happen any Saturday.

I think Cal will retire when he can't get the 5 star guys anymore. This class will be pivotal for him. If he lands Cenac and Thomas to go with Acuff, he'll be back. If I'm Thomas, I'm tippy toeing toward Arkansas though and postponing my commitment until the Spring. He'd be wise to wait out Wagner and Fland and see what they'll do. Neither of those guys looks pro ready right now.

Obviously we're all hoping he misses on Wilson and the kid goes to UK instead.
I think Fland still will be a pretty high pick even if he’s inconsistent this year. The talent is obvious. Wagner I’m not sure about. He surely didn’t even expect to be back in college this year so a guy like him may even jump at the overseas route.

Cenac seems down to LSU/Tennessee so Arkansas really needs to land at least one of Abaev, Ament, or hope for a potential Muurinen reclass. Otherwise might just stick with the two guards from the high school ranks and hit the portal for the rest.

POLITICAL THREAD

Always a good thing, as an adult, to give a kid the foul ball when you catch one. Means more to them. I mean, you're 40, not 12. You gonna take that ball home, put it on your desk, and look wistfully at it?

Give it to the kid. Only thing I would add, is that you can't just take it over and plop it in his glove. You need to fire that thing at him (after you've gotten his attention of course), I mean put some mustard on it. Yeah, maybe he takes one to the face, but the ball will mean more, because he EARNED IT. Buy him a Sno-Cone to hold on his eye.
I bet you are one helluva bus driver!!

POLITICAL THREAD

I listened to Eric Trump on Tucker last week from Election Night and he said before they got on the elevator to go down the escalator back in 2015, Trump said “We’re gonna find out who our friends are and it’s going to be ruthless” and said that he and his family thought when they said “drain the swamp” that they were talking about like Maxine Waters, Schumer, Pelosi, etc. They did not think they’d be dealing with the CIA and corrupt AGs.

He said that their family had been put through hell and for all of the ones you’ve heard about on TV, there’s a hundred more that never got the media play.

How did we beat Ole Miss?

Really like the system that Ole Miss runs. A ton of crossing patterns, good use of screens, a bunch of different guys catch balls, deep shots off PA, etc. I do think Kiffin falls in love with the QB draws at times to their detriment, but, overall, they've got a very good offensive system and Kiffin is a very good play caller.

We played our best game against them, got a couple of key breaks and gutted out an unexpected win. Since then, it seems the wheels have come off. Not sure why.

Because, for whatever insanely stupid reason, we stopped doing all the things that worked great vs Georgia and ole miss.

We switched to mainly a straight drop back passing approach and took away carries from the rbs by giving them to a backup qb. It makes zero sense.

We somewhat went back to what worked vs UT. We were in good shape that game till brock got hurt. Still we probably win if wimsatt doesn't stare down that hitch that he somehow audibled to.
