POLITICAL THREAD

I don’t think Biden would’ve been as cordial with Trump the way the transition went today,
had he not been taken out by his own party. Biden was rubbing this in Kamala, Pelosi, and Obama‘s face. He was enjoying the moment, almost as much as Trump was. . almost.

Crazy how he could smile while meeting with literally Hitler.

That old hypothetical, “if you could go back in time to when Hitler was a baby and kill him, would you?” Realize after all this time, for democrats, they just wanted to kill the baby not Hitler.

I do agree. I came away from that game thinking Flagg was the real deal. He almost willed that team to a win, almost entirely by himself in the 2nd half. He's the #1 pick in my eyes. The game just comes so nicely to someone who is that young, and he made some hard contested jumpers in that game.
I don’t get how anyone can’t be impressed by Flagg unless you just can’t stand Duke(like me) but I can’t deny the talent of Flagg.

Yesterday was his first big game and sure he made mistakes down the stretch but you don’t look like that last night as a freshman if you’re not very good . It’s not like we had our typical freshman team out there . He went against some talented upperclassmen

-How cathartic was that shit? Man, just needed that in the worst way. The parallels are almost bizarro-world. We've been on the other side of that scenario so many times.

-Sure, walk it back now, Stroke. Shit take. I'm not gonna boo the man when he walks into Rupp, but I'm gonna talk mad shit behind his back like a real adult.

-Oweh is the current MVP. I'm sure that'll change but he's a Swiss Army knife. Just needs to stay off the NBA radar.

-We went small at the end of the game. We ran inbound plays. It's really just the small things.

-Flagg certainly doesn't have as punchable face as most Duke whites. Putting him in iso late game was dumb.

-probably shouldn't have poured that post game dram.

NIL and the disappointing North Carolina State season

The Pack can still end up in a bowl game.

Definitely higher expectations based on last season but that’s modern CFB. Will be a whole lot of that going forward.

Kind of like the NFL in that there is just so much turnover year to year.

Said in a thread about UGA losing to get used to that. I think we’re going to see less 3,4,5+ year runs by the top tier programs. So that definitely applies to programs down the list.
When teams have boosters willing to spend 20-25m per year for their classes it's going to be hard to just win. Vols are starting to charge every fan tha attends 10$ per ticket, we all know it won't stop at 10$. But they also have some deep pocket boosters willing to pay big bucks. UGA doesn't have that. If it takes 25m a year to win we are done. But that isn't our issue this year. The worst OL coach in P4 and one of the least innovated OC who is running the same routes out of same formations he has ran forc20 years. Teams know what we are running before we snap the ball, thanks Mike.
It’s going to be hard not only for UGA to keep title hunting pace, but for rank n file to sustain 8-9 win seasons.

Box Score Thoughts

Great team win, for sure. The three things I yelled loudest at the TV about were: Fouling the 3 point shooter. Turning the ball over on drives in the paint. Missing FT's. I really yelled when Jaxon missed 2 of 3 when he was fouled putting up a three. Butler seemed also a little FT hit and miss. Oh, maybe the 4th thing was missed layups. All of those things can improve with practice repetition.

Out of 10 Made…

Robinson played as well as you can hope someone who is off can play in my book. Continued to try to contribute and be an asset the entire time even when it wasn’t working for him.

Brea has really impressed me. More than a shooter. Maybe not great at all aspects but he works hard and really seems to want to do whatever the team needs.
Brea had the best pass of the game with that quick no looker

For those fans too young to remember

Man it was fun when Ark (had Nolan coaching and 40 min of Hell) and Pitino and UK 40 minutes of all out balls out basketball.

UK can be very good this year, if they continue to just keep doing what Pope tells them. Keeps believing in each other and just playing physical / hard / heady / rugged basketball. I love the adjustments that were made. Pope seemed to put the right guys in at the right time in the 2nd half and especially late in the game.

Duke will be a 1 seed. They're gonna run the ACC and unless they completely collapse, no one is stopping them much. They'll lose a couple of games, but they'll be a 1 seed unless the committee can't hide the bias of a bad season.

Probably right, honestly. But they do have little margin for error. For example, they have to sweep UNC IMO, if they want a 1-seed. No oen else in the ACC is going to help their metrics on their way to being truly considered a top4 team.

This is the way!

ESPN has been an ACC / BIG East back in the day love fest. They do not like the SEC and probably hate having SEC on their network. Heck I would rather have SEC on CBS/FOX than ESPN but what can you do. I typically turn the channel at half and do not even watch what those idiots have to say.

UK could have picks 1-10 of the upcoming draft (next year), beat every team by 50pts, beat a few NBA teams (scrimmages) and ESPN would still rather cover DUKE / UCONN / UNC / Kansas and so forth. Do not even care anymore.
