Well, we have the capacity to completely destroy ourselves, and we are trying to get better at space travel . . . that might peak the interest of another intelligent species.
Plus, why would we not be of interest to non-human intelligence? In a recent archeological study of a proposed government funded construction site, an archeologist I met was absolutely thrilled they had found an early settler's "privy pit," or outhouse. This allowed them to study the sh!thouse habits and diets of those who closely followed Boone through my area.
"Curiosity killed the Cat" and is the real impetus behind the billions nations spend exploring our solar system, and our space telescopes exploring the Universe. Would non-human intelligence be divorced from the very curiosity and the impetus for exploration exhibited by our own species?
If so, why?
