Rankings

Yeah, but we beat duke. Obviously we should be ranked ahead of them.
Exactly . And on a neutral court . Since it’s first of season rankings should be considered soft until u get hard evidence such as one teamBeating another . So huge moves should be made at this point . Later in season other wins can make moves not so much but now it’s all guess work until one beats another .
in no world should Duke be ranked ahead of us until we lose.

What seniors can return for the 2025-26 season?

Oweh is probably going to play himself into the draft. Garrison to portal for highest bidder.

Not that either are unhappy or anything but it's just the nature of CBB now.
I can see Owen playing himself into the late first round and testing waters.

You may be right about BG just due to the nature of college athletics; but I personally think we’ll retain him as long as we have a solid season. He’ll likely be the starting 5 next season and the NBA is going to tell him he needs to show he can consistently hit 3s and be versatile….there isn’t a system in the nation better for him to do that at the 4/5 than here

Question about soil quality for home gardeners

Caveman mentioned the first thing needed: have your soil tested. There should be an AG extension office nearby that will do soil testing. A hoop or two and you can get it tested for free.

Have only got about 3 inches of good top soil and then clay. It’s always produced well. But like many gardeners I was looking to increase yield and can’t stand weeding.

Started an experiment years ago. Used the clay base to basically create “clay pots” in the ground. Dug holes about 2 feet in diameter, 2 feet deep, and filled with conditioned soil (I compost and there’s a horse stable nearby with an endless supply of fertilizer).

Took weed guard and placed it between the holes/pots and covered with mulch. Still get some weeds but you can take them out easily since they can’t establish deep roots.

This works really well for vine plants like cantaloupes and watermelons. Before the garden reconfig, was barely getting any cantaloupes and melons. Read how a single vine has both male and female blossoms on them and the pollinators need to have easy access to both. The weeds were creating a barrier.

Tested this by going out and rubbing the blossoms together (at least I put on some Barry White beforehand) and sure enough they started producing. Since the reconfig the cantaloupe and watermelon yield has been impressive.

Which ones were not lawyers? I don't believe any in recent/modern years.
Yes. You are correct. None in recent years, for sure. But, there have been a few, but it was a long time ago. I was surprised to see that being a member of the bar is not an actual requirement. I falsely assumed it has always been an automatic. There have been some appointed with very minimal legal experience, however. RJK was certainly one., as I learned last night from another poster here. Thanks for the reply and the interest.

There are a very few that are not listed with "Lawyer" or "Attorney" ... fwiw

Acaden Lewis signed

This is the a Final Four/NC level guard. Type of guy you'd see Jay Wright get at Villanova. Jalen Brunson like. Or UConn like with their guard tradition which showed in that they recruited him. But this get is fantastic and really can't praise the staff enough for the recruiting work they are doing of not sacrificing time chasing a higher rated individual for guys who are talented but also winners who FIT. You have to play as a team and pieces need to fit.

Was just telling someone after watching the game the other night that Oweh has some Josh Hart to his game and really see that grit and toughness being a recruiting goal of the program and love that. Grit/toughness gets you a steal, 4 pts and offensive reb in a game tied with 45 secs left against a talented top 10 opponent.

If they pull of Caleb Wilson that is the cherry on top and would be one of the best jobs recruiting by UK since Cal had his bearings and was on his game taking the job back in beginning. Wilson is a guy who would've been a center piece of a Rick Pitino class and he can be that Mashburn like player for Pope--showing kids it's "cool" to play at Kentucky in a CBB program, where you'll get to the NBA but CBB/Kentucky is first on your track to the NBA.

Already loved Moreno and Jasper Johnson's talent is there--just have a basketball "man crush" on Braylon Mullins but Jasper is onboard and will bring some things to the program that are going to help the offense-like getting to the hoop and attacking.

Couldn't have asked for a better job from the staff and if they can finish off with Wilson which was looking slim for reasons that were $$$ related....perfect beginning to recruiting for Pope era.

But Lewis....this is the type of guard that has been beating the Cats the past 5/6 years. Fantastic get!

Jennings would be great in that role but probably makes too much money on CNN.
Not a fan of Jennings after he blatantly lied in an Op-Ed to Courier Journal about a youth baseball game incident. I was there, saw it all go down and he omitted a lot of facts that were important just to push his agenda. He lives in Louisville.
