What shoes are most of the guys wearing?

I have several pairs of MJ 1's and 3's, a pair of 4's and a pair of 11's.

I'm unsure how jordan ever played in 1's..not a comfortable shoe at all. He's feet had to of bled wearing them
I’m wearing the six rings right now. They have unbelievable ankle support, they are tight fitting but I can see why they would be great to play in. My favorites just to wear are the 4’s, 12, and 13.

OT: Twitter in Absolute Shambles

Amazing. X more closely resembles the real world and liberals freak out. They don't understand what life is like outside of their echo chambers. LOL.
It's funny, bc every now and then all these left wing ppl try to go occupy a different social media app to yell at each other in an echo chamber and it always collapses. When musk first bought twitter they went to some app called Mastadon, and now they're going to some app called bluesky as if it it hurts X in some way. But anyway, it's going how you would think over there:

Idiotic AP Voters with Duke still ahead of Kentucky (Week 3)

But this isn't the title game. It was a single game sample three games into the season. Arizona lost to Wisconsin and is still ranked ahead of them. Texas A&M lost to UCF and is still ranked ahead of them. This is simply poll inertia at work.

At the end of the day none of this matters though, because college basketball has a tournament to sort it all out. But nothing about a few voters still having Duke above UK is out of the ordinary.
I'm not making any judgments about whether UK is better than Duke at this juncture. That's debatable as most of you have said. What bothers me is when a team ranked 13th or 14th loses to a team ranked 1, 2 or 3 by fewer than 5 points. If the winning team happens to be Duke, UNC, Kansas or maybe Uconn, the lower ranked team drops 3 or 4 places and the winner moves up a slot or two unless they were already ranked No 1. Isn't a 13th or 14th ranked team supposed to lose to a top 3 ranked team? Yes, and according to how the sports writers or coaches vote, that's exactly what should happen. What bugs me is when a team ranked 6-10, for example, beats a 1-3 ranked team and the loser stays in the same place or drops only one or two places the following week while the team that is 6-10 only moves up one or two places.

True, that analysis is too simplistic because you have to take into account bad shooting nights, why they occur, whether the refs were blatantly biased, where the game was played, whether one of the teams was playing at less than full strength, comparative strength of schedules, etc. All of those factors and many others have to be considered. IMO, and obviously that all it is, is that too often there are certain teams that seem to curry favor with the pollsters as well as the refs in games, especially important ones.

Antonio Reeves having a great game

Reeves will end up being one of the most underrated players in our history. He should've started his whole time here and his amazing senior season will only be known as "Oakland."

Sad.
Yeah, it really is sad. Reeves was one of my favorite Cats over the last 2 seasons. I wish him nothing but the best. He became a much more complete player over the last 2 seasons. He's a pure scorer. Great game for him. If New Orleans is smart, they'll increase his minutes. If they don't give him a shot, someone else is going to scoop him up.

Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

I would bet most arky fans assumed they were going to at least get a couple seasons of vengeful Cal, out to prove he wasn’t washed. He should’ve just retired and lived a cushy life as an ambassador to the program.
Yeah, honestly, this is what I expected. I thought Calipari would be out to prove himself and it would drive him to push his players and his coaches harder, maybe as he did when he first arrived at UK. But I don't think we're seeing this.

I think we should also acknowledge that Calipari lost Assistant Coach John Welch when he left UK. Welch ended up back at Fresno St. Calipari ended up in Arkansas without Welch. I'm sure most remember, Welch was the guy brought in to help Cal's offense, and he did help, by all accounts, significantly. Last season's issues were on the defensive end primarily.

So, now Cal is back to running the offense and Welch is in Fresno. This has left some selling Arkansas stock and seeing Cal trot out the same offense he ran back when he had Wall, Blessed, Cousins, et al. I think the game has passed Cal by and he needs a guy like Welch to inject some analytics and modern offense to the team, but he has the same coaching staff he had before. We shall see what happens. Cal has some talent here, but i don't expect the same old offense to produce better results.

Cal's honeymoon at Arkansas is already over

I remember Memphis fans saying “you’ll love him at first, but he’ll eventually wear you down.” Luckily for us, he delivered a title and a few FFs before the wear down. I don’t see him giving Ark fans anything of worth.
That doesn’t track the same though because he was in his prime when he left Memphis. Way different than when BBN soured on him

UK Athletes Tie School Record for NCAA Graduation Success Rate

Wildcats have tied or broken the school record for NCAA Graduation Success Rate every year since 2005

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky student-athletes tied the school record for Graduation Success Rate in the annual report issued Wednesday by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

“Graduation is a foundation of our student-athlete experience. It’s gratifying to match our school record once again, especially in this era of enhanced student movement between schools, which can make graduation more challenging than ever,” Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart said. “I’m proud of the continued commitment and achievement of our student-athletes and thankful for the direction and support given by our coaches and the CATS (Center for Academic and Tutorial Services) staff.”

UK’s NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR), a four-year composite statistic for the freshman classes of 2014-15 through 2017-18, was 92 percent. That tied the record set in each of the past four years, continuing UK Athletics’ streak of breaking or tying the mark every year since the NCAA began tracking the statistic in 2005.

In addition to tying the school record, Kentucky’s GSR of 92 percent is two points above the Division I national average of 90 percent.

The GSR includes student-athletes who are on scholarship their first semester of enrollment. Athletes who transfer or depart for the professional ranks in good academic standing do not count against the school's GSR. Schools also are allowed to count incoming transfers and January enrollees who subsequently graduate toward the GSR.

Here are UK Athletics’ GSR scores in the 20-year history of the measure:

Year NCAA GRADUATION SUCCESS RATE

2024 92%

2023 92

2022 92

2021 92

2020 92

2019 91

2018 88

2017 85
2016 82
2015 81
2014 81
2013 79
2012 79
2011 77
2010 74
2009 73
2008 73
2007 71
2006 71
2005 68

The NCAA also released each school’s Federal Graduation Rate (FGR), which is also a four-year composite statistic for freshman classes from 2014-15 through 2017-18. UK’s latest FGR mark is 59%.

In the FGR, student-athletes who transfer or depart early for the professional ranks count as non-graduates, regardless of their academic standing or subsequent graduation from another institution. Incoming transfer students, from junior college or four-year schools, who graduate at UK are not counted as graduates. These factors account for the difference between the FGR and the NCAA GSR.

In additional academic news, UK Athletics saw 163 Wildcats earn diplomas or certifications in the 2023-24 academic year alone. UK student-athletes are also receiving high marks in the classroom, combining to surpass the department’s goal of a 3.0 grade-point average in 24 consecutive semesters.

NIL Priorities for 2025

Given finite NIL funds…

1. Don’t pay above market rate for Barion Brown.
2. Don’t pay above market rate for Brock.
3. Don’t pay above market rate for last year’s OL transfers. I’ve not seen much to warrant a bidding war for their 2025 services. If they return at discount rate then good.
4. Don’t pay above market rate for Traynam.

Bright spots…

1. Maintain and develop current WR corps with improved QB play.
2. Young RBs seem promising. Build with them.
3. Kicking game
4. DB corps has been recruited and developed internally. Retain previous transfers.

NIL funds prioritize in this order…

1. A transfer QB. I don’t trust Boley to be a starter based off what he did against FCS, 1-9, Murray St. NOW, if you want to find out what ya got, and if you want to be able to compare while QB shopping in the portal next month, then play him a good bit in the next two games. Keep in mind that may expose him to his own NIL recruitment. There are always trade-offs.
2. DT and DE transfers
3. ILB transfer
4. OT and OG transfers
5. Best available: OLB, RB, and CB.

Addendum: Keye probably earned a NIL bump. I would entertain a bidding war to a to 30% over what he’s making now but beyond that I get concerned about the opportunity costs for other transfer needs highlighted above.
I'm just an old guy not able to keep up. with NIL - lol! So, I will ask this question in this thread. Is a School currently limited on how much money that players can make from NIL? Is there a proposed limit for the future being considered? Does it affect the entire athletic program at a University or is each sport "on it's on?" Good news/bad news here in one way. When people say UK can't ever compete - well unlimited money would say ANY school could compete. IF a player can make as much or more money at a school where he/she likes the coaches, community, facilities, etc. and with TV exposure being about the same for all schools now - then it goes back to "And why not UK?". This appears to make "cheating" totally obsolete and no reason for any team to ever be put on probation until this issue has some pretty set and enforceable rules in place.

Go Big Blue!

GYERO

It was packed for the exhibition against Kansas. Just think not a lot of people want to make a Monday night trip against a cupcake, and when the arena is twice the size as somewhere like Duke for example it looks even worse.

It wasn’t full early on under Muss either but does seem more noticeable this year.
Don't worry.

Cal will provide.
