My first half opinion

We are outmatched and probably a 22-23 win team that squeaks into the tourney and maybe wins a game depending on the matchup.

Duke is overrated but still good.

Not a bad Kentucky team but nothing to write home about
Huh, I just wrote a long letter home and included the team.
Sweeping statements, early in games, can sting a little in the morning.

The obligatory. Wore my barstool Coach K collapse t shirt to gym this am.

Flagg is good… looks just like Scheyer
The Kon Konipple looks like Rocky Dennis . Eff that guy.

When #9 went out, their defense had to sag in, and we actually competed on the boards and drove the lane a bit as they still tried to take away our 3s. That’s what won the game. Ohweh (NJ), Carr, and Garrison went to work.

Just glad we didn’t see circle, V, horn, floppy, go offense in late game

The truly frightening thing about this game is this

I know it's just one game, but Robinson didn't impress me at all. He looked overmatched physically. However, Oweh and Butler are two tough, physical guards who will keep us in a LOT of games.
Robinson was a disappointment, but other than lack of scoring, I thought he was still helping the team.
He needs to become assertive and rebound more.

KENTUCKY'S BACK BABY!

Since I first saw our roster I knew we were going to be a lot better team than most people thought. I felt like we would be a Sweet-16 probably an Elite-8 type team. But now. seeing this tall, deep, experienced, 3 point bombing team beat a Top-10 team away from Rupp Arena. This is a legit Final Four National Championship contender. Thank you Mark Pope for making Kentucky basketball fun again. And the fact that Top-5 recruit Caleb Wilson was at the game the day before national signing day sure doesn't hurt.

I’m gonna give Jax a pass right now. We all know he should be better. But Jax, let’s not do that again!

Scheyer using the "we're young" excuse

Duke will be a handful by year end. Don't kid yourself
They already are but UK will cont to improve as well.
Last night was just the 3rd real game “all” of these upperclassman have played together and that with a new Coach and scheme for all as well.
Dont kid “your” self.
We beat Duke in Nov and will beat them in March if need be.

Beating Duke was more than just winning a basketball game.

Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to beat Duke as much as anyone in the BBN. What I didn’t expect was that rush that I haven’t felt in a while. That rush was a feeling of shared pride that we as a part of BBN had lost over the last few years. The joy I felt as we won a game that in the past few years we would have lost down the stretch or even more likely would not have even been close to winning ran over me. I had forgotten just how much Kentucky basketball had meant to me for so many years, and how it always changed the way I felt and how a good win always had a positive impact on my mood. I want to say a big thank you to Coach Pope, the entire team, and the coaching staff for giving me something I have missed so much.
hadn't watched a complete UK game since 2015.
this game and enthusiasm was the UK of old and brought back memories of my mom keeping score on a sheet of paper, jumping up and down like a high school cheerleader.
miss my parents very much, but this brought back a sad but happy memory

Covid thread deleted?

I just recently finished a book about the Sackler family. Their history with OxyContin is well chronicled, but what I didn’t know is how they got their start.

Arthur Sackler actually owned a weekly medical journal (Medical Tribune — distributed to 600,000 doctors across 20 countries) and an advertising agency (LW Frolich).

He pioneered the concept of selling a drug, then controlling all the marketing, communication, and advertising to both doctors and the public alike. What a dude.
