Covid thread deleted?

I just recently finished a book about the Sackler family. Their history with OxyContin is well chronicled, but what I didn’t know is how they got their start.

Arthur Sackler actually owned a weekly medical journal (Medical Tribune — distributed to 600,000 doctors across 20 countries) and an advertising agency (LW Frolich).

He pioneered the concept of selling a drug, then controlling all the marketing, communication, and advertising to both doctors and the public alike. What a dude.

Meanwhile, in the Top Headlines section of ESPN landing page, what would you expect to see? "Duke Upset by Kentucky!" or "Hard Fought Battle Goes to Kentucky" or "Kentucky 1st Classic Win in X Years"

Nope. Nada. Zip. Zilch. And I love that they're choking on a UK victory over Duke.

THE headline relative to that big game and huge upset- "Scheyer: Duke's continued cramping concerning"

Lmao. Choke on it ESPN!!

"Cooper Flagg's 26 points not enough for Duke against Kentucky"

Amari williams

This. Half his shots were because he tried to get something going. But he put it to Maluach and wore his ass out into having to sit. Battling Williams is no small task to ask of anyone let alone a freshman. He tried to draw fouls or beat them down and it worked regardless of how many he missed. He tried and it worked out. 2 or 3 more makes and he gets 10 times the praise.
I find it odd that he has such fluid ball handling and passing skills and has a few moves under the basket, but when it comes to actually shooting he loses all coordination. If he could develop a little mid range jumper he could be deadly.

NASCAR thread

But Logano raced the perfect season for the format.

The regular season in NASCAR, much like NCAA hoops, is largely meaningless. Penske has realized this and they run best when it matters. If the format changed, strategies would change.
I agree with Hamlin and Latarte on Denny's podcast that it should be only winners make the chase and then let the first 7 races determine the final four who battle it out over the final 3 races. One race shouldn't determine a champion. I know they want to be like stick and ball sports but in racing when wrecks, mechanical failures and other factors that are out of your control can affect your finish, it shouldn't come down to 1 race.

Scheyer using the "we're young" excuse

Flagg isnt even their most important player. Their big man is their most important player.

Flagg went out first half with foul trouble. Thats when duke actually pulled away some. However when the big man started cramping, we finally closed and pulled ahead at the end. If he doesn't cramp, they wij going away.

Just dont see in college too many 7'2" athletic big men like that. He shut down all our back doors and dives by just standing there. It let them put lots of pressure on everyone on the perimeter.
