Yeah...but Bubba said there was a Subway down the road.

Fish & Chips, a Pint, Gambol, profit.

Fun Fact: Surprisingly, The British actually invented Chicken Tikka Masala, and it's considered a national dish, as declared by Parliament.

I could get by just fine alternating those two for a weekend.

BBdK being stuck for a few days in a shitty food situation would be pretty comical. Could add a few Euro pizza junts to his spreadsheet, doh.

Meh, their national cuisine is known for sucking and being boring, but you find good restaurants anywhere.

The menu at the much-awarded Road Hole Restaurant marcus welby Jeff Ruby's or 610 Magnolia. I mean, London is UK too, but you can eat there just like you can in NYC or any other elite city.

Gordon Ramsay has more Michelin Stars than just about anyone. It's not like you have to eat Bangers & Mash, Scotch Eggs, and Kraut everywhere.

BBdK isn't a pretentious food snob (okay, maybe Pizza) as is the common perception, I'm just a way better eater than most people. 90% of my favorite shit isn't at nice restaurants -- I don't even average a steakhouse or nice restaurant a month, TS.

Anth is the true pretentious food (hotel, clothing, drink, beer, liquor, gadget) snob of the group. He looks at the price/menu to decide what's worthy or not -- that is definitely not me.

Good spinoff thread idea btw, stay tuned.

I'm sure there are a few places but for the most part it's awful. In Dublin we ate at some restaurant where the chef was on food network and it was decent. It's something about their seasonings that's off. Nothing to do with the cost. Unlike any other area I've visited.

Other than the food I love it. It's kind of the Lexington of Europe when it comes to food.

Playing in a WPT tournament. In Flight B. Probably be close to 4000 entries. Seated by a guy that cashed in 566 at the main event.

A lot of degenerates here. Kind of scary

Went to The Open at Turnberry. Pretty incredible experience. We went on a Saturday and pretty much went wherever we wanted. Crowds were 1/2 the size if US crowds or seemed that way bc of the wide open layout. This was pre-Tiger but still. Beautiful course. Beautiful country. And yes the food is bland.

I'll GTFO but this is on the money. Lived in Dublin for a couple of years. There is a "heartiness" that is almost off-putting after a short time if you give a damn about food being more than sustenance. It's not that it tastes like crap or anything but it's odd. Like their somewhat unfortunate/tough history is manifested on a plate everywhere you go, even where you wouldn't really expect it.

Kind of awesome after a dreary damp day on the course though. Once.

Also told my kids that another name for it is a "bird" and they damn near rioted.

~You probably know the story, Joe took Frank Vincent on as a favor to Pesci when someone in the Jersey crew wanted to pop him. I won't say who it was, but I'm sure you and Bruno have heard the story. He was a very arrogant son of a bitch from what I've heard.

There's lots of good food in Great Britain.

It's just that none of it is British.

^ old saying but very true

Where you playing at? What was the buy-in? I actually am interested in how you finish. I watched/played poker nonstop for a three or so year period and really wanted to play in one of those events. Never happened though. Maybe one day I'll get back into it.

That's how I felt and there is a casino in Oklahoma north of Dallas so I thought why not. It is the World Poker Tour that you see on Fox Sports. Choctaw Casino WTP stop. It is going for another 2 1/2 weeks.

It was a $120 buy-in and there are 4 flights. I was in flight B. two more tomorrow. About 1100 in A and 900 in B. Top 10% each advanced to Sunday. I made it to the top 150 of my flight before being knocked out. Looks like there will be about 4000 entries total and they pay the top 5%.

I haven't played in about a year and was pretty happy about how I did.

I know you Northern guys have been getting slammed with rain/storms and mild temps. We have too down here in South Central, but summer is finally here. It's been 95+ for the last 4-5 days with heat indices of 100+. No relief in sight. 10-day forecast shows nothing below 95 for actual daytime highs. So . . . basically it's perfect running weather for PTI.

[banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana][banana]My van broke down at 4am in the middle of Tennessee and I had to get it and all my kids towed to a dealership in Nashville and then I had to rent a car and switch over all the gotdamn car seats and luggage and bullshit my wife bought and it took me 18 hours to get home from 30A and I haven't slept at all since 630am Friday and my kids slept most of the way home so now they won't sleep tonight so everything is awesome

Did the yard work thing all afternoon too. Too GD wet to get out there early and take care of it before it got miserable. Too risky to wait until the next day or evening because I've only got about a 12-36 hr window between monsoons when the yard is actually mowable. Still skipped parts of it because it was too wet.

On a related note, restringing a weed eater is awful. I'd rather pay the kid that picks up Adam's dog turds to come do it for me than fk with it myself.

Anyway. Done now. Sucking down some collides and watching the evening news. Wife is making some kind of chicken that she says I like.
