I hate the idea of bringing in a 47% 3-point shooting juco. Terrible idea.

In looking at the big picture, you don't think Cal scrambling to find a guard is indicative of some other recruiting news he's received (Newman maybe looking elsewhere)?
Whether or not he is a good player isn't the issue. At least to me, anyway.
Is it "scrambling" because we didn't know about him? It seems a lot of schools are interested in this kid.
Did signing Bledsoe mean we weren't getting Wall? Did signing Lee and Dakari mean we weren't getting Randle? etc., etc., etc.
It is ok to sign more than one player at different positions, especially when you just lost 7 to the NBA.
We might not get Newman, Brown or Ingram. But I'd try to sign this kid either way. He is a good scorer/shooter.
Suggest you guys look up Dave Hopla if you haven't heard of/seen him already. Guy goes around to basketball camps and goes 500/500 sometimes... on "off days" he misses 2-3 shots. I'd say at least 100 are from 20+ feet out.
With that in mind- totally believable that Curry could hit 77 straight.

Well the Barker assault has went viral. I am seeing that about every 3rd/4th post on my FB feed. Of course, mostly UT fans.......except for one post by Earven Flowers. He shared it and Jared L, Braxton Kelly, Antonio Hall, Mike Williams and several other FB players are disgusted by Dubose/Baker.

- Mom turned 60. Starting to realize how old my folks are getting.
- Yeah, a big commitment any day now would be great.
- Finally checking out Rhinegeist on Saturday night. Can't believe I've never been. Hear it's a really cool place. Love their beer.
- Really happy for Anthony Davis. They'll probably get swept but I could see Davis just going apeshit on everybody.
- No, Female, you don't HAVE to go to this and this and this and this. You can blow off that happy hour and I'm sure your co-workers won't die.

The NBA is an absolute far superior product to college ball right now and it's not even close. Obviously we are dealing with pros but the the way the game is played, the way the game is officiated & the pureness of the game make it that much better.

The NBA was an ish show in the 90's thanks to imitators of the Pistons Bad Boys championship brawling tactics. They cleaned that crap up, called games where the elite entertaining athletes with the ball could actually drive to the basket and make exciting offensive plays without being sent to the hospital. Smart, intelligent people recognized they needed to fix their product to make more money.
Sadly there are no smart intelligent people in college basketball wanting to make it better, or at least none with any power. The Pitinos, the Bennetts, the Ryans, the B1G T3N conference want to leave the game unwatchable rockfights with 15 timeouts taken over the last 5 minutes to micromanage & over-coach. Hell Pitino wants to make it even WORST with his moronic reinstate high schoolers to the NBA draft take.

This last group we had was by all accounts nothing but a fantastic group of kids. Sandy Bell told the old man it's by far the best group of kids she's ever been around in the program. Yes sir/no sir. Well mannered. Not a bad bone in the bunch.
That being said, can we get some mean ass kids that want to rip your fng heart out ala Gilchrist & Davis? Ulis has it in him. Want some dog in these players.

He lost me though last weekend with the whole we have equal or better talent than 9/12 teams on our schedule. Believe it when I see it.

Just my preference but I want my UK Football new is a negative tone. I mean the news is usually negative so why make it positive?
Freddie's great and he is so great because he's knowledgeable, but also because he takes it so personally.
The latter is perhaps the key ingredient for a true UK football IMO. It has to really grate on you for me to think you're truly a UK football. If you're flippant about a heartbreaking loss or sometimes our complete ineptitude, perhaps it's best if you just go ahead and pitch a tent outside Memorial.

Yeah, pretty incredible Davis led his squad there with basically no (or injured) supporting cast -- something Russ didn't do.
Hell, just making the playoffs is a feat in the Western Conference, especially for a young team like that.

I've probably been to 75 or so UK football games over the years. And I'm completely worn out on it. No interest at all.
It was my one of my favorite things to do as a kid. Had a great run from 2000-2008, rarely missing a home game, and a ton of away games.
But I've got NOTHING in it now. Just feel kind of empty when I discuss the subject.
