This kid grew up crying when Kentucky lost and jubilant when they won.
I am not one to curry undue favor on Kentucky-born players. They got to deliver. Noah is delivering. he looks like a choir boy but I think he and Oweh have the most junk yard dog mentality on the team.. He gets rebounds, and defends his position. And he's hitting his shot.
Perry has the GOAT KY HS scorer accolade but Noah is the one I really wanted us to recruit if we were only going to take 1 (glad we have both). Hes 6’6 - 220lbs. He had SEC size and was on multiple other major D1 radars. He translates more directly to CBBI feel like the questioning of not giving Noah a scholarship from the beginning may have started on this board.
I like how both of them shoot the ball with confidencePerry has the GOAT KY HS scorer accolade but Noah is the one I really wanted us to recruit if we were only going to take 1 (glad we have both). Not a knock on Perry at all. The speed and size of the SEC is a bigger adjustment for him rn due to the position he has to guard and then giving up size on any switches. Still think Perry adds 15+lbs of muscle and is a killer in his role by Jr-Sr year as well. Already showing flashes even now.
If Perry adds 15 plus pounds he'll look like William Perry AKA the Refrigerator. Perry, unfortunately doesn't have SEC measurables, in size, quickness. When he plays pg he's exposed and will never be a better pg than every other SEC pg who will blow past him. Now he can shoot. But this should mean spot duty as a 2 guard. Because Noah is taller, and just fast enough for his size, he can guard his position better.Perry has the GOAT KY HS scorer accolade but Noah is the one I really wanted us to recruit if we were only going to take 1 (glad we have both). He’s 6’2 listed 180 w average body comp. He can easily be 6’2 195 with 10-15lbs of muscle and not look like a cheeseburger. For example, Cooper Dejean is listed 6ft 198lbs. Aaron crafts playing weight at OSU was 6’2 and 190-195.If Perry adds 15 plus pounds he'll look like William Perry AKA the Refrigerator. He is smart with a nose for the ball and it helps him to get himself in the right positions too.His defense is the thing that has really surprised me. He has just enough strength and quickness to hold his own pretty well.
I honestly thought he would have just barely LESS than enough to do so, but it's really cool to see him prove me wrong - great for him and the team...and with the injuries to Butler & Jax, it's coming at a time when he's needed more than ever.
I, for one, am not sure he can't develop into a PG. He's certainly big enough. I think the physical issues will be speed and strength - one can make up some for the other - but those would be physical issues at 2G too. Then, even more importantly, are ball-handling, passing, and PG bball-IQ.Are we certain he is not quick enough to get better on defense? We really havn't had anybody quicker than Dillingham and people blew by him the same way they do Perry.
