Could lead to another NIL dealI can't get over how ridiculous they look with the fake eyelashes, lol, it's sports ladies.
Lol they miss a lot of easy ones but make some tough shots a few possessions laterI am amazed at how many times Clark passes ahead to someone for a layup and they never score.
Yeah, but it's like watching Justin Edwards practice.Lol they miss a lot of easy ones but make some tough shots a few possessions later
Iowa’s players can’t make contested layups a lot of the time. They like to shoot threes. but are just too soft in the lane. That said, they’re just down 5 with 3:32 left.I am amazed at how many times Clark passes ahead to someone for a layup and they never score.
Besides being a lot smaller, Iowa’s players are not strong enough to box out.I don't think I've ever seen a championship game with such domination in rebounding. I've only seen a few women's championships.
Yup several of em this game. Thought inside position was supposed to be the advantage,The block out fouls are a new one to me.
What a lowlife.Never seen such ugly females…some have got to be men right? Who watches this crap?
I loved watching Caitlin the last two years. Such an exciting player.
That being said ... Dawn Staley is an unbelievable coach. Lost her starting five and comes back and and goes undefeated to win it all. Wow.
Just don't understand the coaching. If you're getting smoked on the inside and have one of best shooters ever and 3 others shooting over 35% from 3, let it rip and if you're hot you win if not you lose but at least you got a shot. Shooting 40% from 2 is not gonna cut it when you're shooting the same from 3...The missed lay-ups were due to the size of South Carolina's interior players especially Cardoso. Iowa simply had no answer which allowed so many second chance or third chance points for S.C. But, the offensive team work for both teams were great and wouldn't it be nice if Cal sometimes might teach how to cut to the basket without the ball instead of standing passing it around on the exterior?
This was a winnable game. Feel bad for ClarkeWhy would you try to go 1 on 3 fast break with a chance to cut it to 3 or 4 with more than 6 left lol. So many bad decisions.
In the 4th quarter she started forcing shots in desperation. She looked tired too.I missed the game but looked at box score and then came here to see how the game went. Interesting observation: Lots of CC love early in this thread. Disappeared later in the thread. The box score for CC was unimpressive. She scored 30 but took a LOT of shots. Her overall percentage was lower than the team average.
So, any comments or observations from those who actually watched the game?
Clark was great, then Iowa would go 3-4-5 possession in a row without even trying to get her a look which disrupted her rhythm imo. Of course during those stretches SoCar would take over and then they would finally go back to Clark who would either make a shot or get someone involved.I missed the game but looked at box score and then came here to see how the game went. Clark flops well enough to play for Duke.Great first quarter. This is David vs Goliath. USCjr is so much bigger and more athletic. Iowa is just playing basketball and Clarke is other worldly.
Like said above she took some desperation type shots . But it’s hard to be as efficient when you take the shots she has to take anyway . USC did a good job defending her .I missed the game but looked at box score and then came here to see how the game went. Interesting observation: Lots of CC love early in this thread. Big reason USC won was size inside and the bench. USC had Tessa Johnson score 15 off the bench by herself meanwhile Iowa didn’t score a single bench point .
The thing that stuck out to me is how big these girls are. The 18-20 year old male player is typically rail thin and many struggle to gain weight. Most of the females in this game are rather hefty.Besides being a lot smaller, Iowa’s players are not strong enough to box out.
That’s why it’s ridiculous to claim she had to win a title to be in a goat convo of college ball considering every champion is on a loaded team. UConn’s titles were filled with five stars.Clark was great, then Iowa would go 3-4-5 possession in a row without even trying to get her a look which disrupted her rhythm imo. Of course during those stretches SoCar would take over and then they would finally go back to Clark who would either make a shot or get someone involved.
At the start of the 3rd SoCar took over and then Clark started pressing instead of getting shots in the normal flow of the offense. In fact they really didn't run anything for her to get open she would just beat people off the dribble or shake em on a step back.
A lot of the shots came down the stretch in desperation mode which she was trying to get it all back in one play.
The biggest problem though was giving up 18 offensive boards. Their first shot defense was quite good, but give a team that many additional attempts that have players of SoCar's quality and it's a rap.
Edit: Testimate to Clark though, absolutely backpacked her team to the title game back to back.
