Why is everyone assuming Higgins is telling truth about the death threat?

This should be a relatively easy one for law enforcement to figure out IF it happened. If it happened indict. If in a month or so there is no indictment IT DID NOT HAPPEN.

Whom the Gods will destroy they first make angry. Angry people make mistakes. Having been in law enforcement I believe this is a rather easy case to solve. Was it really a threat? or a perceived threat or just a bold faced lie? Time will tell . But no indictment it didn't happen.

This. If the FBI actually spent 2 hours there yesterday, and there is something legit to these "threats", we will be hearing more about it, most likely in the form of charges. The FBI doesn't mess around and for sure doesn't like it's time wasted. But if this is the last we hear of this, and it kind of just "fades away", then I'm calling BS that any of it ever happened.

I'd never advocate threatening to kill a person. Having said that, it wouldn't bother me a bit if the bastard got knee-capped the night before the game if he's ever scheduled to do another tournament game for the Cats.

Remember that Katman2000 character? That guy was so off the reservation, I wouldn't put it past him.

I'd tend to think not. I had many private conversations with him and even was a mod on his site for a stretch and he was a pretty cool guy to me always.

If I'm the investigator/reporter, my first question(s) to Higgins would be whether he's ever received "death threats" before? From non-UK fans? Other refs get any?

And we need to distinguish between someone saying--- "I hope your brakes go out" vs. "I'm going to cut your brake lines."
