Why doest Kentucky get the best players in the state

Yes. He’s been given the instructions to fix it repeatedly in this thread and he chooses not to so as to continue his weird schtick.
It’s odd because I switched to dark mode to view it, and everything is already white text. So not sure why he changed it to white. If I switch back and forth between modes it changes the font color automatically.

I took a extension of that changed everything from white to black which most sites are unusable. I can use this site without it. Hope this solved the problem. Could someone let me know. This is not something I've done on purpose
All good on the light mode now.

Some of that might be due to the previous staff and their priorities, I think we’ve seen a shift in that with the new staff. You’re not going land them all though.

FYI- I don’t know if you’re on the dark mode setting, but your text is white and doesn’t show on the regular mode at all.
Previous staff got Sheppard and Perry correct?

I can see your post now.

Some day you'll be old and need help. Needing help isn't rediculous. I think I fixed it. I can hopefully fix my post. You'll have a harder fixing your manners

Reed Shepherd recently became the highest UK draft pick ever from the state. There were five I think higher from other schools. One other from UK in the top ten. Why don't we sign the best players in the state.
Reed was the best player in the state. Cal recruited because he HAD to. Cal never recruited Ky boys. But thankfully he is gone. Pope has Noah and Perry now. He will get more

I think it could be a combination of things, In the Calipari era, he was not that keen on bringing in local kids that much. As some one noted, some of those kids are not that into UK or just want to go somewhere that they can play. I do believe the new coaching staff is looking hard a local kids again.
The previous staff rarely took ANY players ranked outside of the top 50. During Calipari’s tenure, there weren't any players from the state that were top 50, other than Reed.

1. Not ALL of the top KY players are UK material.
2. Not ALL of the top KY players are UK fans / fit their style of game.

Pretty simple answer really.

Cal signed Donte Allen and people screamed for him to play more. We all know how that turned out. During Cal's time at UK, what KY kid was really good / star in college somewhere else ?

I did the math, 23% of his player who actually on a UK roster were not top 50
Per Rivals, the only guys that were always outside of the top 50 were:
-Dontaie Allen
-Dominique Hawkins
-Derek Willis (I think he might have been top 50 at one point in high school)
-Joey Hart (only recruited because Antonio Reeves was about to leave)
-Isaac Humphries (Late reclass and recruited because of how thin the frontcourt was. I assume that he's never recruited if Dakari returned.)
-Tai Wynyard (reclass and thin frontcourt)
-Adou Thiero

Need to do more research, but look at your list, Hawkins and Willis were 3 star Kentucky boys who were very important pieces their last two years at UK. Cal did not like it when a Kentucky kid took attention away from his valued possible number one draft picks.

At Calipari's introductory press conference he said "I'm here, because I can recruit the best of the best." I hate to break it to you, but that ain't Kentucky boys. The guy HAD to have elite talent to win anything. How many in-state kids that were ranked in the top 50 did Cal not recruit?

Made up problem. We always got the best players in the state other than Tubby guessing wrong on Lofton. Then Cal blew off most Kentucky talent and true Cal was a dick about it but frankly for the most part we weren’t missing much. Reed, Check. Noah, check. Perry, check. Pope just got here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probably had nothing to do with Reed being a stud and a McDonalds All American. I’m guessing he HAD to recruit Travis Perry too.

I’m not sure what in state player we missed on since Chris Lofton who we really just took Ramel Bradley over and like Dewayne Morton for you old heads. Who are these in state players that we didn’t recruit that we should have?

Yeah Cal (barely) took Reed and hated that he did the whole time. The average KY boy didn't have too much of a shot.
So the kid that he offered in June of 2021 and who committed in November of 2021 is a kid he barely took? Seems like offering a guy the summer between his sophomore and junior year is more of a priority target and not a kid he barely took.

You seemed fixated on this so called top 50 talent, when I just pointed out how valuable some Kentucky Kids have been even for Calipari. And no offense how many times did Calipari get his ass handed to him with this so called top 50 talent by teams with no top 50 players on their roster. Are you one of Cal's daughter's trying to defend his horrible coaching by throwing out there his recruiting etc.

You have completely strayed from the argument. The "so called top 50" is what Calipari recruited. Kentucky kids typically don't fit that. I'm sorry if that reality doesn't fit your "Calipari doesn't like Kentucky kids" conspiracy.

That’s true he did say that. He also said “look around at these walls they don’t hang banners for anything except National Championships” and then went on to not give a shit about National Championships 😂. It’s hard to dissect that man’s bullshit.

The hatred of Cal clouds the honest judgement of some.

Cal isn’t hated it’s just many see him for what he is. Cal was adored here until he chose to put winning second and attacked the fanbase. I don’t think UK fans don’t understand what’s going on based off of an opinion of Calipari. I’d say the Calipari fans are much more likely to suffer confirmation bias and misjudge the situation, they didn’t even notice how bad of shape the program was in because of his ability to daze and confuse.

Only bringing it up because I see routinely the idea that the people that don’t like and saw through Calipari are the ones with these types of conditions. I think it’s actually the opposite.

Cal is literally hated by a lot of fans, that’s why he is brought up every single day on this board. Calipari fans are just Kentucky fans who supported Calipari, you call them Calipari fans because you hate Calipari. Mark Pope fans are Kentucky fans who support Mark Pope, same applies to Mark Stoops, Kenny Brooks and every other coach on campus.

Wow didn’t think anyone was still on the tired line of “you just hate Cal” lol.

Calipari was losing at historic rates at UK. In ways we’ve never seen before. Kentucky fans would not approve and want to maintain a coach who’s losing in record fashion. Anyone who supported him and didn’t want him out is a Calipari fan because most UK fans wouldn’t support him to the detriment of the program.

We talk about him because he just left and took much of our team, to a rival, and we will now play against him. 15 years sir. If you don’t understand that I have no idea what you’re talking about. All of our coaches are talked about constantly. Calipari isn’t special.

Tell me what you think Calipari’s approval rating was in 2015? If I told you there was a poll I could cite with 400 replies and 96% approval what would you say?

Cal is disliked because he became incredibly stupid toward the program and lost at record numbers. It’s not about anything other than that. There’s a few that like to pretend Cal was just simply hated and that’s a lie they tell themselves so they don’t have to accept how wrong they are and we’re. That simple.
