MbergCat’s post yesterday (which I thoroughly enjoyed) after watching Jasper Johnson play in Woodford Co. this weekend got me thinking that we must have posters here who have seen quite a bit of Moreno in action. Would appreciate reading any takes on what they’ve seen, especially whether Moreno has the current ability or at least the potential to keep defenses a little honest from the 3pt. line? Also does Moreno remind anyone else of Tim Duncan (when at Wake Forrest) in his mannerisms and type of game he has?
Question for those familiar with Moreno’s game.

Thanks. Looks like he's made 1 of 8 from 3pt. line. I hope he already has the shooting mechanics and only needs more practice repetition to improve on that. I think his brother was a good 3pt. shooter at EKU, and he is very tight with and worked a lot with Malachi. So, I was kind of hoping they had worked on Malachi's perimeter shot.I have not seen him play but you can find his season stats here:

Yeah, I guess talking about Tim Duncan at Wake Forrest (rather than NBA) is going back a little too far for some.
He needs to hit the gym, he needs to bulk up big time. He doesn’t shoot great from too far out. He plays weak sometimes. He’s going to take time. Hope I’m wrong, but just my opinions on watching him play.
I get the sense that you're right that Moreno is going to need some time. He's ranked so well due to his potential ("talent"), but he's going to need time, experience and maturity to reach the higher end of that potential. But I think all the ingredients are there, although I don't know about his shooting potential. Bluesnky posted his stats this season and his shooting numbers, including from the FT line, don't inspire confidence yet; but if the form is good, I'll be happy.
I originally thought Moreno might play 18 - 20 minutes a game next season, but now I'm guessing more like 10 - 12 min./gm. So, I think UK has to have at least 2 PFs from the portal, with at least one being able to handle the Center spot some from a strength and rebounding perspective (and it looks like there could be a number of good potential PF options that can do that). Ideally, I even wouldn't mind seeing UK get a 3rd Center option to go with the 2 PFs.
