I assume you are talking about Coach Rupp, and while both men played at Kansas, they were not team-mates. Rupp played far earlier, for one thing, and was a far better man in life to boot. It's sad, to tell you the truth, how Coach Rupp has been treated by the media. As it turns out, what the media has said about these two men could easily be reversed. Ironic, but true.

Close call, I would say Smith was the biggest cheater due to academic fraud but Wooden was the biggest overall fraud. Never would have succeeded had it not been for Sam Gilbert.

Biggest cheaters in history.

1. Dean Smith - cheated using academics. In my mind, that's worse than UCLA's pay for play.

2. John Wooden - probably any sports biggest beneficiary of tainted wins. The worst part is he knew about it while acting as if his integrity would never allow. Sounds familiar.

3. Anything associated with Kansas basketball. The only program to win a championship coming off of or going on to probation. People do not realize how much Kansas has cheated in their history.

Don't know why anybody is saying Wooden.
Look at it this way; Yes, under Gilbert UCLA won 11 championship. But it was a booster problem, and UCLA players still went to class. In fact UCLA is academically a very good school. Once Gilbert was given the boot, UCLA's dominance dwindled.

UNC, on the other hand, created entire fake classes (practically a fake major) for athletes in multiple sports, and an entire back up system to boot that taints the entire school. The Tar Heels ENTIRE SCHOOL is a farse academically and athletically.

Pretty sure Wooden had already won a couple of titles before Gilbert got involved with the program. IMO, JW isn't a cheater, he'a Fraud like a previous poster mentioned. If he was so morally superior like many of the media claimed him to be, why didn't he walk away from UCLA when he knew about Gilbert's shenanigans? He liked winning too much, that's why.

Rumor has it that Smith was buried face down so that his nose wouldn't break ground with all the lies piling up.

It's hard choose between these cheaters, kind of like picking who the most ruthless mobster was. However, one thing is for sure, 4 out of 5 of the jokers I mentioned have deep roots at UNCheat.

Think about it:

Frank McGuire: Proven Cheater

Dean Smith: Proven Cheater

Roy Williams: Proven Cheater

Larry Brown: Proven Cheater

And let's not forget about Matt Doherty and Bill Guthridge, either.

UNC is getting their come uppance as we speak. It's about all we can expect to happen with the NCAA running this investigation.
