Who Makes an All-Calipari Team? UMASS, Memphis, and UK.

I guess we will end it right here. Not into discussions that go this direction.

Well, I gotta apologize for that. I didn't mean it that way. In the context of the discussion, if I say Camby is not on the list, then you assume I think he sucks. I meant that sort of bad attitude with respect to 'if its not the best, then it must be the worst'. I just see that really really often. Its harmful and its common among students. Why do folks assume that?

Again, my apologies. I did not mean to infer you have a bad overall attitude.

No worries. Go Big Blue!

I just have to LOL at where this thread was intended to go (best players under Cal) and kybassfan turning it into a morality, integrity, cheating, corruption and lack of forgiveness thread. Pretty wild I must say.

Actually, you did that. I just stated my opinion. You tried to change it. Now THAT was funny.

Wrong. You stated that Camby was an out and out cheater (over and over), that is should never be either forgiven or forgotten, and also that he was a worse college basketball player than Karl Towns. That may be your opinion, but it's still wrong.

Three things:

Sure hope you never made a mistake, especially when you were young.

Sure hope you never had to live in poverty.

Sure hope that God doesn't think like you. If so, I'm screwed.

The only guy any of you should be considering from Memphis as a starter is CDR.

Rose over Wall? Not in this lifetime.
Camby over cousins? Not in any lifetime.

That was just what they chose as a penalty. The exact point in time where Camby's cheating began was never revealed to my knowledge. If you think a stinking cheater belongs on Cal's best player list, go ahead. He's still a stinking cheater. He will always be a stinking cheater. He has admitted to being a stinking cheater.

If you take Camby as a Junior, you are choosing disqualification. At lease Cousins was eligible.

Cal deserves better.

Stinking?

Wussy!

C - Davis
PF - Jones
SF - MKG
SG - Lamb
PG - Wall

Hard to beat the 2012 team with an excellent point guard.

C - Towns
PF - Davis
G - CDR
G - Lamb
G - Wall

This lineup has a transcendent player and 4 players with over 60 TS%. Pick up the slack, Wall. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

While Camby was a great college player, I still would take Cousins. Camby was the only star player on his team and his schedule was composed of a lot of teams like St Bonaventure, Fordham, Temple, St Joes, La Salle, George Washington, and Rhode Island. They didn't play a single ranked team in conference or in the conference tournament. So he got to boost his stats even more.

Imagine Cousins playing those teams and being the primary scorer on UMass. He played against I believe 6 ranked conference teams and still did very well as a freshman. Camby may have done just as well no matter who they played in conference, but there is no way to know. I would put Camby on my second team though.

So, let me get this, in your life, you can't forgive a loved one or a friend who makes a stupid mistake, even after they admit it, apologize for it, and then pay for it? You just hold it over their head forever?

Really, think about it this way: If a regular college student (who brought no revenue to the college or the NCAA) took 20 grand from some agent involved in his or her major, would you consider that immoral?

One problem.

It's illegal for the NCAA student athlete to accept that cash. There's no law against a regular student, who's paying their own way through college, to do so. Big distinction there whether or not you agree I'd say.

Having said that, I agree with you. Camby made a mistake and has completely owned up to it. I wish I could say the same for half of the guys getting away with similar (unc).

Buddy, (and I love your UNC posts), Camby made one mistake, but he was a fantastic college player, in an era when college basketball was its toughest and best. The man payed back everything UMASS was fined, apologized to everyone over and over, still feels bad about it, and has been forgiven by everyone, except by you. He was a great college player, and certainly one of Calipari's best.

And the ncaa (I might add) which we know is complete Donkey turds considering the schools that have done very similar and much worse with zero repercussions.
