Who is the top 4?

We should have already have been in a 12 team playoff format this year. If you remember, all the conferences were all on board with the 12 team playoff. Then the anoucement that Texas and OU would be joining the SEC came out. That anouncment upset a lot of important people and caused the other commissioners and university presidents to vote no on the 12 team playoff, although they would come to their senses the next year. I said at the time it was like cutting your nose off to spite your face, because the SEC made a power move. By doing that these other conferences said no to significant revenue and teams gettig a playoff spot. Sanky wanted the 12 team playoff, but the other conferences said not now. For this reason, I hope the SEC gets in.

On the field I think the best argument against FSU is us. This version of FSU is comparable to a middling SEC team that beat a ul team last week by scoring 30 points from the offense, which we never do. They couldn't muster anything against them although the defense held them. But one side of the ball teams don't belong in the playoffs. And Alabama beat us by 100 on the road. We've played bama, ga, and the common opponent with this version of FSU.

Like it or not leaving out bama for FSU will hurt ratings some too.

That has been a hot topic in the sports media all evening. That game was pre-milrow. Bama is not the same team now and has grown in a big way. Texas should be in. But FSU should not

Milroe played every snap that game

Mich, Wash, Texas are easy picks. The 4th is tough one. It will depend on what the committee is looking for, a team that has gone undefeated, or the best team yesterday. If for best team yesterday Bama in a landslide, But reward for their season and finding a way to win it would be FSU. I think Bama gets in.

No matter decision committee will essentially render conference championship useless and disincentivize playing big OOC game.

I think it’s ultimately the end of conference titles. Especially with conference expansion and inevitable schedule expansion.

Coaches will say hey if winning title doesn’t mean anything plus we have to play more games, against good teams in case of big10 and sec with those juggernauts that joined…nah piss on a title game if it’s going to hurt us.

Don't envy the selection committee. Georgia is out because they lost by 3 points to a team that made the playoffs.

The 21 starters for FSU that aren't named Travis got absolutely screwed. Would Alabama beat them? Most likely, but that's why you play the games. No other sport can you go undefeated and not even have a chance at a title.
Does this bump U of L out of the NYD6?

FSU is now free to fill the Orange Bowl
slot, and U of L should not be top 11/12.

Play in a real conference then bro.

Fsu beat 2 sec teams. Alabama beat 9 of them.

The acc is a dog crap conference.

MICHIGAN crapping their pants now. They would have been partying in the streets if it had been fsu instead.

It’s a one year phenomena. With expansion all undefeated will go in, including a team the likes of UCF a few years ago.
It will then get pushed to the 11th 12th 13th 14th ranked teams... on who deserves to get in. There are scenarios where uk will get the short end of the stick. It will be super important to be as highly ranked as possible to start the season.

Florida State just got a major screw job. I'm tired of the whole SEC is better than everyone argument. The pitiful ACC went 10-7 against the mighty SEC. I wish Sankey cared as much about basketball as he does football. He never gives UK the benefit of the doubt.

Top 8 in order
Bama
Georgia
Michigan
Texas
Washington
LSU
Ohio State
FSU

No they didn't.

All one has to do is look at SOS and who had better wins. Lsu is fsus best win and fsu wouldn't beat them if they played today because they can't score anymore. That's like Bamas 3rd or 4th best win.

Alabama went undefeated in the SEC. Way more impressive than going undefeated in the acc.

If bama hadn't of lost to Texas it would have been 3 bama and 4 uga for me.

Bama had to have a miracle to beat a pedestrian Auburn team just last week. Didn't Alabama recently win the national championship after putting in their back up quarterback?

Fsu had some close calls as well. Boston College, Clemson, Miami and Florida come to mind.

Doesn't matter. Committee got it right.

Again, ask michigan who they wanted at 4 with truth serum. All I need to know.

On a separate note is booger gonna cry over fsu getting left out? Dude is unhinged.

Winner of that game 100% wins title. Not that that's some bold claim by me.

No way bama loses to Texas again (think Texas wins that Washington game by double digits).

I commend the committee for making a tough but correct call. It’s supposed to be the four best teams pretty hard to give FSU the nod after a mediocre schedule. Undefeated or no, you wanna guaranteed shot at playoff schedule appropriately. Bama or UGA deserved that spot over them all day every day.

Everybody knows from an administrative standpoint that the conference champs is primarily about generating more money. That's not changing...Sankey said so in an interview yesterday. Next year with expansion it will be rendered largely irrelevant from the discussion from what it matters for post season.

But they did lose. They got their asses kick on their HOME FIELD.

Has a team ever made the playoffs that got their asses beat by double digits on their home field??

One week ago, Bama needed a 4th and 31 hail mary as time expired to beat a piece of shit Auburn team, that got boat raced by New Mexico State. LOL

Alabama didnt deserve it.

Took me one season. Last years osu team by 22. In last game.

Still got on.

Overall schedule is edge to Bama and uga over fsu.

Honestly if number 5 was between uga and fsu it's charity the committee ranked fsu 5th. Uga would beat the crap out of them.
When I saw Mich at 1 and to Rose Bowl it signaled bama was in because sending the 1 seed twice as far it would only be to make sure bama wouldn't be playing in the sugar bowl as a 4 seed. But then when they showed uga at 6 I thought 'hold up maybe bama is out' because the logic of moving bama ahead applies to uga too.

All other conferences, combined, have won less than 50 percent of titles since 1997.

You aren’t tired of an argument, you are tired of a fact.

UGA 65, TCU 7.
Why stop at 97? Go back to 1980 and get back to me. I think the SEC is top heavy. Other than Kentucky, I could give a rats ass about the other teams.

FSU struggled with both Florida and UL.
Auburn, pedestrian or not, could beat Michigan, Washington, or FSU on a given day.
