Purely my opinion but if you pay your last piece a chunk of change it resets everything all again down stream. When we paid jq, we had to increase Garrison.
So paying Jackson alot of money, which we probably dont even have (pretty clear we took aments money and gave it to jq) and you have to pay more to oweh and eventually Johnson.
Again jmo. Much better value to find someone else that doesn't start a domino effect. Plus we have to be ready for this house settlement too.

So the guy that started for UK, led us in scoring last year, (in the draft but no even close to a first round and has option to come back) 00 Oweh is not good enough to start at guard this year. He is so bad he has to move to the 3 (when we have 2 guys that can play the 3 now in Williams and AJ. We could start Lowe / Oweh / Williams / Mo D / JQ or BG.
Will Pope go after DW from Texas Tech and get in a 3 way bidding war for a guy that might not come back or does he have others already lined up to go after?
Oweh fills one starting spot of the SG/SF slots. We need another.

The guy was scared of the guys we have now. He was not sure enough about himself to start over Oweh, Williams, AJ and others. He would have only came here if it was him at 10 scrubs. He should have just stayed where he was. IU he will the focus of defenses. He will take a huge scoring hit this year. If he was on a team with multiple options he would have a better chance. Run away LW. His choice. He did not want to have to work for it.
Rather get a 2nd pg than a wing. We got Oweh an Williams to man that already. We only have 1 true point gaurd. Add a back up pg and were 13 deep . Roster is set after that.
I’d love to get that dude but he’s not quite what we need right now. We need someone who can create offense and score outside. He was a decent outside shooter but more of an inside banged, he is tough though.
Perry doesn't need to play much. He is terrible.

Man. Oweh will be back. Jasper will be an absolute stud. One of the top frosh in college. I could see him shooting around 40% from 3 and at high volume. Same with Kam if we don’t get another star. But Jasper and Kam can both put up big shooting numbers. I could see Jasper getting like 14pts 3ast 3rbs a game 40% at over 150 attempts. Kam over 100 attempts at 42 ish. 10 pts 6rbs 3ast 1blk 1stl
Well, in fairness, he has done exactly that. For example, Kerr was the starting point guard on an Arizona team that went 33-4, earned a 1 seed and reached the sweet 16.
So it plainly is something he’s capable of …he’s proven it …even if he’s not the best choice for the role.
Everyone has their opinion. I think the staff understood very clearly what he can and cannot do. He was a serious defensive liability. If he was that important, Pope would have made an effort to keep him.

With the current roster in regards to getting one last commitment, the need appears to be a very good to elite perimeter shooter. I think there is some flexibility as far as exact position.
What I mean... the roster could look something like below doesn't reflect exact depth chart or minutes but only players that could provide minutes at the position depending on matchups, foul trouble, etc
Option 1: if the commit is a CG:
PG: Lowe, CG Commit, JJ, Perry/Chandler in a pinch for brief spurts
SG: CG commit, JJ, Chandler
SF: Oweh, Kam, Mo D
PF: Mo D, Jelavic, Garrison
C: Garrison, JQ, Moreno
Option 2: if the commit is a SG...
PG: Lowe, JJ, Perry/Chandler in a pinch for brief spurts
SG: SG commit, JJ, Chandler
SF: Oweh, Kam, Mo D

Pope was ready to move on. So, he just didn’t offer as much. At the time we had Acaden and he was not starting in front of Acaden. When Lowe came onboard, it was obvious he would have been the third option at pg. Not a bad third option. Just not a starter.
I have no idea if he enters the portal but if so what are your thoughts on Tyrese Proctor? I feel he could play backup PG or the starting 2G with Oweh at the 3.
Eaglestaff are the type of players I mentioned about earlier about jumping into the portal after seeing a need at UK...
