Who is next wing target after missing Wilkerson

Has anyone heard if we’re looking at Chaikin ??

I posted him on another thread not good on defense but can shoot it.

With the current roster in regards to getting one last commitment, the need appears to be a very good to elite perimeter shooter. I think there is some flexibility as far as exact position.

What I mean... the roster could look something like below doesn't reflect exact depth chart or minutes but only players that could provide minutes at the position depending on matchups, foul trouble, etc

Option 1: if the commit is a CG:
PG: Lowe, CG Commit, JJ, Perry/Chandler in a pinch for brief spurts
SG: CG commit, JJ, Chandler
SF: Oweh, Kam, Mo D
PF: Mo D, Jelavic, Garrison
C: Garrison, JQ, Moreno

Option 2: if the commit is a SG...
PG: Lowe, JJ, Perry/Chandler in a pinch for brief spurts
SG: SG commit, JJ, Chandler
SF: Oweh, Kam, Mo D
PF: Mo D, Jelavic, Garrison
C: Garrison, JQ, Moreno

Option 3: if the commit is a SF
PG: Lowe, JJ, Perry
SG: Oweh, JJ, Chandler
SF: Commit, Kam, Mo D
PF: Mo D, Jelavic, Garrison
C: Garrison, JQ, Moreno

I know that isn't some brilliant revelation but just looking at the fact that it isn't necessarily a positional (PG, SG or SF) need but a skillset need that could come from any one of those 3 positions...to me, that's good as it allows for more potential options to fill the spot.
Not that it matters, but Perry isn't a point guard. He never played point in his life before last year, was pretty clearly uncomfortable at the position, and naturally didn't fare well. Other point: I think any lineup that includes Chandler for only brief spurts is a non-starter. For Chandler and more importantly for Pope

I don't really disagree, and that's why I was writing it as having either of them as "in a pinch for a minute or two here and there".

I do think that Perry is going to have to develop as a PG if he ever want significant minutes at the college level. Even if he doesn't do that on the offensive side of the ball, at 6'1, he's going to guarding the opposing PG, so that's why I still pencil him in as a PG

Yep, agree with all that. TP is in a tough situation. I love the kid, love his story, love that he ended up at UK. But he's in a box. One hand, he's a natural 2 (shooting is the one thing he's really good at), he doesn't have the instincts or even desire to play the point, and his biggest weakness (defense, lack of lateral speed/athleticism) is most glaring when he plays the point and is guarding the quickest player on other team. All of that screams he needs to play the 2, no ifs ands or butts about it. Other hand.....he's 6'1. Hard to play the 2 at Kentucky's level at that height. I do think Pope's offense may be the one place where he can play the 2.

DW from TT is a power forward not a wing player more of a low post player
Was watching vlogs from national guys saying he is a 3 playing the 4. Is that not correct? I only saw 1 game of theirs last year and did not pay much attention as I was involved doing some other things.

Just read that Cade Tyson, Marcus Banks and Trey Eaglestaff would all three be good gets in our system. All three proven shooters that would be playing in a system designed for their strengths and they would be surrounded with top players where their roles would be more defined.

I just don't see why any big school would want Cade. If the ACC worked him over I can just imagine the SEC.

It said not to look at his numbers at NC. Said he only played a 8 minutes a game. But said the way he played two years ago and shot the ball from the three he is a proven shooter. And that Pope's system is made for shooters. You may be right, just relaying what I read.

Man. Oweh will be back. Jasper will be an absolute stud. One of the top frosh in college. I could see him shooting around 40% from 3 and at high volume. Same with Kam if we don’t get another star. But Jasper and Kam can both put up big shooting numbers. I could see Jasper getting like 14pts 3ast 3rbs a game 40% at over 150 attempts. Kam over 100 attempts at 42 ish. 10 pts 6rbs 3ast 1blk 1stl
I feel some are really sleeping on Kam. He is gonna be a big part of this team.

I know people like to dunk on Hubert, but he’s had plenty of shooters do just fine playing for him. I have a hard time believing that Tyson was that comically mismanaged versus the more obvious explanation that his “proven shooting” happened at Belmont and he had a hard time adjusting to the increased competition.

Cade Tyson may be bad (can not adjust to major league competition), may be just destroyed by a bad coach

Do not know if he is worth investigating

In last portal, he was "as good as" Kobe Brea...

If Pope believes in Tyson and brings him here, I will support him.

Just depend on Pope.

Last season, UNC is just iso basketball, and no plays for a shooter

I have no idea if he enters the portal but if so what are your thoughts on Tyrese Proctor? I feel he could play backup PG or the starting 2G with Oweh at the 3.
He wpuld want starting 2 back up pg role. He would push Chandler to BYU or Utah. He would be much more an asset than Chandler at least what he was last year as he can do more an hes a better defender. He would also demand a ton with Nil. End of day he's not worth all trouble. Would still like a decent back up pg. But we're already a legit 12 deep ffs
