What's up with the Bengals?

FYI...if you use the team "Bungles" to describe the Cincinnati football team, you instantly forfeit your credibility as a grown adult.

That being said...the Bengals are not as bad as they played yesterday. The real concern for me is that their floor is that low. Add another 50% to that performance, and they still get beat by 21 points by the Chiefs and Bills of the world.
They are the Bungles, they don’t deserve the name Bengals because they suck and usually screw every season up. Luckily Burrow and Chase have set them up for success lately but they are trending down now.

Agree. They've won ZERO superbowls but run around like they're bluebloods. Their fans, that is. Some of the players are likeable, such as Burrow. But they are the Bungles, make no mistake.

Lol no one cares you pop your Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts CDs in your car while you drive down to Nashville to Titan Up.

LOL, good one. I prefer Hank Williams and George Strait. I understand you prefer to listen to Madonna while yelling "Who dey!" as you Rock through Highland Heights. Whatever floats your boat. [roll]

Cincy fans have had to chill out and take their meds, that's for damn sure. [roll]

You are one salty individual. You freak out if a cinci fan says anything, yet here you are being as obnoxious as you possibly can.

Maybe you’re no better than the fans you claim to dislike? Also, who is your team that is so amazing?

I've shifted my stance since the start of the season to resting Burrow now, protect your investment long term and not risk further injury in meaningless games like yesterday became. They have dug themselves a hole and this back loaded schedule is not going to do them any favors. Especially when you drop a game to Tennessee. Continuing to take hits all year, not going to just heal up and be 100 % as the season progresses.

It's another team held hostage by a QB contract. They don't have the money to pay all the offensive weapons AND spend to get a top notch O-line AND defense.

Cincy’s season is probably shot, but they’ve played 4 games. Let’s not pretend the last two years didn’t happen. They’ll always have a chance as long as a healthy #9 is throwing passes to #1. Which I presume will be years to come.

This season is shot, only hope is for a last Wild Card spot but not banking on it. Unrealistic to expect this team to do a complete 180 and change the fortunes of this season to become a legit contender with everything going on right now. Long term I still feel confident in this team. If this year is a bad season they will have great draft position to restock going into 2024. However, can't just rely on past glory of these 2 years and expect it will win you games going forward. Doesn't work that way. We'll see how committed this front office is with the long term future when they are faced with bring back key free agents and additional weapons with some real weaknesses on this roster right now. #1 & #9 can't do it all. They are projected to have $86 million in payroll flexibility in '24, won't be enough to fill every area in need on this roster. Likely going to replenish from the draft with the direction this season is going and lose some of the expensive free agents to be.

Even worse, only appeared in 1 Super Bowl yet you come in here talking shit as if Tennessee is some blue blood.
Show me where I ever said Tennessee was a blueblood. In fact, I said they were a bad organization in an earlier post. So you are spreading misinformation, pal. Bungle fans are angry and boy it's fun to watch.

Maybe you can hang a banner up for yesterday's win next to your lone AFC Championship and take a reading comprehension course while you are at it. Like I said, the way you are talking shit when you are no better gives you no leg to stand on and lack self-awareness to just how awful of a franchise Tennessee is.

Maybe you can hang a banner for being 0 for 3 in Superbowls. Listening to a Bungle fan talk smack might just be the funniest sh*t I've ever seen.

How long did it take you to come up with that come back? I guess the only thing more comical is a Titans fan thinking they have a leg to stand on in this argument and are so obsessed with another fan base to take their minds off their own misery and project it on others.

I think you still have PTSD related to that McPherson kick last year. I find it odd to loathe a non-rival from a different division that’s also been historically bad. It would be like Bengals fans hating the Texans for knocking them out of the playoffs Andy Dalton’s first two seasons.

You and your boy bloo are just making stuff up, throwing it at the wall to see if it will stick.

I've never hated nor will EVER "hate" the Bungles. You have to be great for a LOOOONG time to be hated. The Bungles are a wannabe. I just know a lot of Bungle fans and they have been so obnoxious the last 2 years that I enjoy seeing them back to making excuses. This thread is making me laugh harder with some Bungle fans bowing up. [roll]

You are the one that is big mad in here getting defensive with everyone that dares to get back in your shit for someone without a dog in the race and that appalls the fan base so much, you sure do stir the pot. Before you go around making baseless accusations of people making stuff up, you might want to look in the mirror first. I can tell you first hand, as someone who lived less than 1 hour from Nashville in Clarksville, TN, Titans fans talk more shit and were a bunch of drunkards at Nissan Stadium when I went to go see Cincinnati play there. It's the NFL and you act like it is some revelation that fans are going to be passionate about their teams.

Like the guy earlier said.......the Bungles are just getting back to who they are. [roll] Go out and buy that gear! [roll] Bye now.

Not making anything up. It’s just weird that the Bengals get under your skin. Colts? I get it. Texans? Your franchise came from Houston. Most Bengals fans I know aren’t crowing like we own anything. It’s just nice to have hope for once. I’m too young to remember the ‘89 Super Bowl so yes, I am enjoying the Joe Burrow Era and feel like they will be relevant for as long as he’s healthy.

Neither the Titans or Bengals are a top tier nfl franchise. Neither have won a super bowl.

Titans have 25 playoff appearances to 16 for Bengals and the Titans did win 2 afl titles. Bengals have 3 super bowl appearances to the Titans 1.

Neither have won a super bowl but Bengals are only one with a shot to n future due to burrows.

I agree with you. There's probably less than a 5% chance the Bengals make the playoffs, and I'd say a very significant chance Burrow gets hurt even more if he continues playing injured. Chalk this season up as a loss, punt and start over next season.

Neither have much to crow about in their past but the future is still bright in Cincinnati. All that matters. Will point out that Cincinnati has 3 AFC Championships, TN 1. All 11 of their Division Championships occurred in the NFL, the Houston Oilers won 4 of the Titans 11 Division Titles in the AFL. Not even mad if this season ends up a dud. The rest of the league should be on notice after the Bengals get favorable draft position in a one off bad year to fill holes in a more affordable approach for Cincinnati with over $80 million in cap space for a team like Cincinnati and still have Joe Burrow & Ja'Marr Chase. Bounce back and be right back in it. I agree with Titpwhami2014, people can't pretend like the last 2 years did not happen. Yeah, I'm not overly worried about 1 bad season.

No. They held themselves hostage before the QB contract. They, like Chicago and others, just aren't willing to consistently spend enough on key components to win it all. They need an OL and TE. Shouldn't have let Perine go. Should have fought to keep their defense solid.

They seem to have put in very little effort to do so.

It seems that way at least. But it could be that, like the Cubs in baseball for many years, there's not enough bells and whistles to their practice facilities In Cincy, or the city itself doesn't offer enough to star players for them to want to be there.

Only 2 teams make it to the super bowl and 1 has to lose, so maybe it's actually more complicated to get there AND WIN than we might think

Not a Benglas fan but they have looked pitiful. Definitely the biggest NFL disappointment so far. Still a lot of time left in the season though
