What's up with the Bengals?

I was certain we were gonna draft a TE this past draft. Gotta address that Bengals. Irv ain't it.

Bengals don’t prioritize a receiving TE at all. It’s a mistake, but one they are confident in.

I know. When you've got the 3 WRs we do, it's easy to just let the other team pick one to double team and toss to the other guys. Just let the TE block. I say add a 4th receiving option for Joe at TE.

Even Perine was good in pass protection with his blocking. Both Perine & Hurst are wasting in Denver and Carolina.

Perine is shocking to me. He was a beast last season and got a nice contract in Denver. They paid that man a lot of money to warm their bench. Guy is legit good and they just forgot about him.

He needs out asap if he wants to salvage what’s left of his career. RBs have a short window in this league and he’ll be completely forgotten after 1 more season of sitting.

Way too many missed tackles today. Boyd missed a wide open TD after the huge 64-yard catch. Stagnant offense most of the game. Horrible play calling as usual, not a good performance as a whole today. Houston is a good team but down one of their best WRs Nico Collins and starting RB Dameon Pierce for those who will want to point to the Bengals injuries. Just hope Trey Hendrickson is fine after that injury at the end. Short turnaround at Baltimore Thursday and Cincinnati is winless inside the AFC North.

Thursday night is an absolute must win. Baltimore has got to go down. Gotta brush today off quick.

We lose Thursday and the season is done. Can’t go 1-5 in conference. We lose almost every tie break scenario. Firmly out of the playoffs and would likely our have to win out to even have a chance.

Hopefully Cleveland can find a way to knock off Baltimore here on FOX. Close one. We need all the help we can get.

Honestly need Baltimore to win. We won’t beat Baltimore out for a playoff spot, but Cleveland is possible. Browns winning this one is a bit of a nightmare for cincis chances at a wildcard.

You're probably right but I can't bring myself to concede the division yet lol

Well Browns won. Cinci is likely in a win out or die scenario. They lose every tie break scenario minus the Bills. Can’t see anymore losses where their playoff hopes stay alive.

Crazy to see this after beating SF and Buffalo. Really really bad loss today and Boyd needs to suffer at practice this week.

Bengals secondary and D-line play today reminded me of UK somewhat. Too many wide open receivers. Meanwhile, Burrow was running for his life. However, the two interceptions he threw the second half doomed Cincy’s comeback.

That last one was crazy bad. Not like burrow at all

The end zone INT by Burrow was brutal. Bengals had their chances down the stretch and did not even execute after the helmet to helmet penalty on Chase. In a game where Higgins is out, Chase banged up Mixon only gets 11 carries is inexcusable. Simply got outplayed by a hungrier team with a rookie QB on the road with key injuries as well. Hudson showed life in the 1st half with 6 catches, 7 targets for 33 yards and was never really a factor the rest of the game.

LOL are you being serious??? The Bengals are 5-4. If they win out, that will make them 13-4, and likely the overall 1 or 2 seed in the AFC. LOL Im hoping you are joking but I think youre actually serious. The Bengals can lose a couple of games and make the playoffs easily. If they go 6-2 theyll get in comfortably.

That was a continuation post talking about the scenario of losing Thursday to the ravens. Yea it’s serious. Realistically they aren’t winning out after the ravens game and their margin for error is rapidly approaching zero.

6 to 7 losses puts you solidly into wildcard territory. Terrible spot if you lose almost all tie break scenarios.

Absolutely. That was embarassing.

Boyd missed a wide open TD after the huge 64embarrassing.

He dropped it, but the throw could've been a lot better. Burrow was no sharp on some throws, laser focused on others.

Seems like the Bengals played like they were overlooking their competition today.

Just hope Trey Hendrickson is fine after that injury at the end.

That busts my heart when I see an injury like that. Total freak thing that didn't have to happen. ALWAYS got to be heads up on what's happening around you, but damn

This is the most brutal thing for both teams. Tough, competitive games with 3 days to recover and prepare. Hendrickson being out could be a deciding factor. The D was already looking out of sorts. I hope Boyd doesn't let that drop get in his head and make a second game of it.

That game was a head-scratcher.

Burrow looked like jekyll & hyde.
Defense could NOT tackle.
I have to think you're right about Houston being hungrier but will add Cincy being overconfident.

Even so, still should have and could have won this game. The 2 picks were WTF kinda throws. Just when I thought the Bengals had their sht figured out...

Defense got gashed pathetically. No excuses losing to a rookie QB like that. This kind of loss has to stop if they want be in the playoffs this year.

Firmly believe they were looking past Houston to Baltimore and Thursday night. Division is way too good to lose like this. Taylor still has lots of growing to do to be a really good coach. Too much talent to lose like this.

Agree, this team definitely seemed like they did not have their heads in the game and even the announcers said as much this is a classic 'trap game'. Got going too late in the 4th Quarter. As much as this was a total team effort with pathetic defense and a stagnant offense, it's fair to be critical of Burrow. Also agree that it was not a great pass to Boyd who will no doubt be clowned for this for awhile to come and the late end zone INT was costly after throwing some absolute dimes to Trenton Irwin and Ja'Marr Chase previously in the game. Even the previous throw to Boyd for 64-yards was on point but others were highly questionable decisions.

Hopefully Higgins will be healthy soon and need to open up the playbook for shots down field with the options they have with Boyd, Chase & Higgins. Good news I suppose of some sort, I read on X that Hendrickson was moving around on his own power and may have avoided a serious injury.

4 day turn around for Hendrickson is not good imo. Higgins being out too would not be good.

Bengals just totally gave away a game today. Taylor does not convince me yet that he is the coach that can win it all. Losses like today just prove it.

No pass rush if neither Hendrickson or Hubbard play. Jackson with no rush will not be good for the Bengals.

That’s a game they were likely to lose with all 3 healthy. Each guy individually is a big loss, so this looks really bad.

What?! Let me guess... You didn't think they'd get to the super bowl when they did either.

3 starters likely out on 4 day turn around on the road against the Division leader is a big mountain to climb
