What's up with the Bengals?

No. They held themselves hostage before the QB contract. They, like Chicago and others, just aren't willing to consistently spend enough on key components to win it all. They need an OL and TE. Shouldn't have let Perine go. Should have fought to keep their defense solid.

They seem to have put in very little effort to do so.

It seems that way at least. But it could be that, like the Cubs in baseball for many years, there's not enough bells and whistles to their practice facilities In Cincy, or the city itself doesn't offer enough to star players for them to want to be there.

Only 2 teams make it to the super bowl and 1 has to lose, so maybe it's actually more complicated to get there AND WIN than we might think
You can start your reply out rude and dismissively with the word "no".........but that doesn’t mean you’re right. They knew they had to save money for Joe and couldn’t do what was needed. Clear as day.

Lol. You are soooo sensitive. Hire someone to give you a hug, little guy!

He would've taken less if he had an awesome OL and WRs, and a shot at a title. Cincy is just too cheap as a franchise to do what it takes. Of course they knew the negotiation was coming. EVERY TEAM has the same criteria and restrictions, but not every team is willing to do what it takes to put together a real contender long term.

The Bengals needed offensive linemen from the year BEFORE they drafted Burrow. To say that they couldn't do their jobs at other key positions because a negotiation with Burrow was coming is complete horsesht. < now THAT is dismissive, but factual.

They are the Bungles, they don’t deserve the name Bengals because they suck and usually screw every season up. Luckily Burrow and Chase have set them up for success lately but they are trending down

Child, please.

Maybe you can hang a banner up for yesterday's win next to your lone AFC Championship and take a reading comprehension course while you are at it. Like I said, the way you are talking shit when you have the same record gives you no leg to stand on and lack self-awareness to just how awful of a franchise Tennessee is.
He's a crybaby Tennessee fan....says it all

You and your boy bloo are just making stuff up, throwing it at the wall to see if it will stick.

I've never hated nor will EVER "hate" the Bungles. You have to be great for a LOOOONG time to be hated. The Bungles are a wannabe. I just know a lot of Bungle fans and they have been so obnoxious the last 2 years that I enjoy seeing them back to making excuses. This thread is making me laugh harder with some Bungle fans bowing up. [roll]
Keeps using one word over and over....jilted and can't get past it...probably still drives by his old girlfriends house....🤣🤣🤣🤣

34-20 win. Burrow looked much better today, 36-46 317 yards & 3 TDs. Ja'Marr Chase 3rd TD of the game, set the Bengals single-game record with 15 catches, 192 yards to this point. Received some production from Trenton Irwin with Higgins out, 8 catches for 60 yards. Mixon 25 carries, 81 yards. Hendrickson 2.5 sacks, Germaine Pratt with 10 tackles and an interception in the game. Taylor-Britt with a pick six.

Bengals played to Joe's remaining strengths since the injury. Looked much better. They'll have to restrict his movement like that if he's to have any chance to recover 100% before the season ends

Burrow looked good out there and was even scrambling out of the pocket to get the 1st down. The mobility is promising showing signs the calf is feeling better. What more can you say about Ja'Marr Chase, broke Carl Pickens' single-game reception record. Good to see the running game utilized with Mixon getting 25 carries. Still not sold on the defense. It is the now 1-4 Cardinals with Josh Dobbs as the QB. Today they looked solid as they should against a team as bad as Arizona. They will be tested with the Seahawks, 49ers and Bills in the next 3 games.

They beat a truly awful team, which will get people’s hopes up. That is until they play the 9ers and Bills. Reality will set it fast.

It's a change up from losing to awful teams. People who watched the game would have seen a more agile Joe Burrow who was getting out the pocket, making some plays with his legs and looking much healthier. Something that could not be said of the previous games where he looked like he should be shutdown vs awful teams. This was also without their #2 WR Tee Higgins. Reason for optimism while being realistic at the same time. The defense has more to prove in those tests than the offense which is practically the same as the last 2 years minus a backup RB and Hurst. With #9 and #1, Bengals offense always has a chance when healthy.

Next 4-5 games will show where they are.

Defense needs to be more stout. I know they were better today, but not dominating games. TE position is too nonexistent. Would really open up the field if they had one.

Confidence and working out the kinks matters for that upcoming schedule. They aren't necessarily playing to beat the 9ers and bills right now. They're playing to get better and to make the playoffs first. If they are playing at a high enough level by the end of the season and make the playoffs, they can cross that bridge then. Right now, just keep getting better

17-13 win over Seattle.

Defense played well today against a decent Seahawks team. Logan Wilson was incredible out there with 11 tackles and a sack. Bengals D with 4 sacks today. Hilton with a big time red zone INT and Taylor-Britt with another huge interception in this game along with 7 tackles.

Offense was garbage in the 2nd half after a solid start to the game. Mixon only 12 carries for 38 yards. Chase had 80 yards today but not much else outside of the TDs by Boyd & Iosivas. Getting no production whatsoever out of Smith at TE. Only mustered up 71 yards and 3 points in the 2nd half with a 4th Quarter FG. Up to .500 now so I'll take it, a bye next week to heal up and prepare for going on the road to San Francisco. This team has so much work to do with the brutal schedule ahead.

Yeah, for all his leadership qualities Zac Taylor is a terrible playcaller. Worst kept secret in the league. The 3rd and 1 today with three tight ends and Burrow under center is the perfect example. The entire world knew they were running it up the middle there.

Absolutely! He has to relinquish play calling duties. All there is too it. Was definitely encouraged by the mobility Burrow first showed last week and the offensive performance vs Arizona knowing they always have a chance with Burrow & Chase dialed in. If they can ever get the defense and offense both to have a decent game together then the Bengals should be alright. Hopefully this bye week will heel up any lingering injuries especially to Higgins & Burrow. Like you said, Taylor's play calling still going to be a problem no matter what.

Saved by the defense...offense started hot and then circled the bowl for the balance of the game against the hawks...

a W however is a W...need to shore up that pathetic O line and find a replacement for mixon...
Mixon is inconsistent but the problem is not all on him. When you only get 12 carries a game like today with a weak offensive line, that has a lot to do with the volatile production the Bengals get from him. Usually when he gets 20+ a game and utilize the run game, Cincinnati looks much better. Perine is doing nothing in Denver and Cincinnati needs to make a trade for him. Perine was solid himself in pass protection with his blocking at times. Losing Bell & Bates hurt on defense but the losses of Perine & Hurst at TE have hurt this team too.

I’m still a little salty the Bengals didn’t draft Mayer in the first round. Local kid, has looked decent the few Raiders games I’ve watched.

Mixon is on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards this season but only one score all season long.

Burrow didnt play well after first 2 drives. Higgins is fading away it seems. Offense is just horrible right now.

Lets see where Higgins is 2 weeks from now and more time to heal the fractured rib. Playing through an injury and Burrow not being the same early on has a lot to do with his production this year. Did have a good game vs Baltimore, 12 catches, 89 yards & 2 TDs. Some rest over the bye week will be crucial if they are to have a chance with the gauntlet ahead.

Agree. He's not been the same this year. A lot of that is because Burrow was not himself either. Hopefully this bye clears things up on offense.

Big time road win 31-17 against the 49ers for the Bengals today.
Swept the NFC West but need to win inside the AFC North now. WHO DEY!!!

Burrow looking like himself today and looked mobile out there today scrambling for 44 yards himself coming out of the bye week. 28 for 32, 283 yards & 3 TDs.

Chase 10 catches, 100 yards and a TD. Mixon had a productive game today with 16 carries, 87 yards and a TD. Solid effort by the defense today and Trey Hendrickson sealed it with a strip sack. Seahawks beat the Browns and Jacksonville won against Pittsburgh. Someone needs to knock off Baltimore.

Looking better, but we aren’t beating Baltimore or Cleveland with their pass rush. That is the bengals cryptonite.

They haven't stopped them from advancing in the postseason as the Bengals 'kryptonite'. With Burrow, Cincinnati wins the games they need to go deep in the playoffs. Joe Cool is 3-3 vs Baltimore in his career so its not like they have the edge over him either. I'll give you the Browns pass rush causing them problems in recent years but I expect Cleveland is going to fade away. I like our chances at Paycor this time around with Burrow healthier.

My salt runs a little deeper. Since he didn't choose UK out of HS, Mayer can suck it. Glad the Bengals didn't get him, but hope they can get a great TE before the trade deadline.
