I’ll start with most recent. Kentucky -25.5 vs. Evansville.

I still have that ticket hanging on my bathroom mirror for Monday motivation not to be so stupid.

What say you?

My worst $$ disaster was a Tennis match about 5 years ago.
Nadal retired in 3rd set (leading 6-1 6-2) because of injury
Learned a hard lesson about trying to steal $$ with a "LOCK"

Been there, done that with tennis. Especially in grand slams the extra set is brutal. Several years ago I lost a 6-0, 6-1, 6-7, 6-7, 6-7 (not in that order). 30-22 in games and still lost the match. Smh.

12 to 1 odds on 100$ bet. uk winning the 2014 tournament on selection Sunday as an 8 seed. That wasn't the bad part.
Making it to the title game and betting the other way to win 600 cursed my team

Since we are often favored (besides 2014 of course), I always bet on our opponents’ ML in the NCAAT. Already buy season tickets, why wouldn’t I pay for a UK win?

Very good to hedge on that, IMO.

I bet my 2 year older brother 5 bucks I could school him in the boxing ring.
He hit me between blinks. Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see.
He let me off the hook for the cash though. 5 bucks in 1965 was a fortune.

Just saw on Twitter some poor buck bet Penn State -26.5 vs. Maryland for over $80,000. Only off by 40+ points. Shake it off and get back out there!

That makes me feel better.

1980 American League playoffs.
Yankees v. Royals

The Yanks had the best record in baseball that year, 103-59.
And they'd beaten the Royals in the playoffs in '76, '77 and '78.
I bet $5 with anyone and everyone who would take my bet.
Five dollars.
That was a lot of money for a Soph. at WKU.......

It was a sweep!
A Royals sweep!!!!

And yes, I remember game 3 in Yankee Stadium.
9th inning.
Goose Gossage trots in from the bullpen to face - who else? - George Brett. Whom I think hit .390 that year!!

Goose hurls a 99 MPH fastball.
Brett swings.
Brett's bat connects with said 99 MPH fastball.

I STILL don't think that damn ball has landed. It's out there in space somewhere, probably orbiting Saturn.
That's how hard Brett hit that ball.

Game - Set - Match
I had a lot $5.00 bets to fork over in the ensuing days!!!!!

The 1993 Sugar Bowl / 1992 National Championship game

I bet my cousin $10 a point and I took Miami. I thought they were a lock to crush Alabama.

The opposite happened and I lost $210 and I was a broke college kid.

I bet on a horse who got home so late he had to tip toe into his stall - Henny Youngman

I told my buddy I had a weird feeling about Steelers today. Still a lot of game left, but...I just lack testicles when it comes to the NFL.

$1k on Clemson -6 last night

That’s a tough one. Just the way the ball bounces. To make me feel better after losses, I love to scour the Internet for some people who lost $20,000 on a bet. Really does help me get over defeats!

Being down to 2 horses when I could only afford to take 1 in the pick 4 yesterday. Took the wrong one. I would have collected $4,556.

Falcons in Super Bowl couple years ago is up there for me
-I had pretty good size wager on falcons +3
They were up 21-3 at the half and I decided not to hedge by taking Patriots 2nd half

falcons were up 28-9 after the 3rd so I was still feeling good...of course we know what happened from there
I don’t gamble much on sports anymore. Got tired of the bad beats just like these.

That last Senior day for Billy Clyde, thought no way we would lose to GA at home on a senior night. Ugh.

I make drunken prop bets with my friends all the time.. and I'm pretty sure I'm 0-87.

I bet against myself once. I thought I was wrong but, I wasn't...

I made such a preposterous wager that it’s a guaranteed winner tonight.

Jets +9.5 -102 tonight! Flacco ‘bout to go ham on them suckers!

Actually not too crazy. I’d tease it to +10. Pats aren’t anything special right now.
