Watching the draft combine...top SGs according to Bilas...

Except

Booker was getting abused defensively. That's why he wasn't in. The group that was in the game late was the one that got us the lead in the first place. Stall ball was the issue, not who was on the floor.

Nothing wrong with that opinion...hated to see Booker give up that huge 3 to Booker with 1:44 left....oh wait...never mind.

Constructive criticism (or even just open exchange of ideas) is one thing, but snide bitching in every thread gets a little old. Just saying.

What does height without shoes matter? You play the game with shoes on.
Unless Winslow is playing in 3 inch heels he is still 3 inches shorter. With or without shoes. He's no Gilchrist. Not even close.

Winslow has a ring how about Booker?

Oh, well stop the discussion! That's the deciding factor!!!! Geez, that's not a legit point. Basketball is a team game, not an individual.

Zaytovan likes this post. Just a question on something I've noticed , does he/she always post on everything negative about the program or player? Serious question. Maybe its just the posts that I've seen but it always seems to be about something negative.

Really though, Winslow is an undersized PF, not a SG.

At Duke this was true since the best lineup for the team ended up being with Matt Jones in the role of undersized (by NBA standards) small forward. I'll grant you that when his NBA team decides to play small ball, he could play that spot in small stretches. However, most of Winslow's time in the NBA will be spent at SG and SF.

It's a bit similar to Trey Lyles in a way, who played quite a bit of SF at Kentucky due to the unfortunate Alex Poythress injury as well as having Cauley-Stein and Towns locked into the 4 and 5 spots. But like I fully expect Winslow will spend most of his time at the 2 and 3 spots, Lyles is an NBA power forward.

Winslow doesn't have the shooting? He shot 41% from deep last year.

He's a 2/3. He is 6'6 with shoes (remember the game is played with shoes on) strong and athletic. IMO, he's more then capable of guarding NBA wings. Hate to pump up a Dukie but I was very impressed with Winslow, most impressive Duke player when I watched the semifinal live at Lucas Oil.

Granted the NBA three is a bit different than the college three, but like you, I do think Winslow will at the very least be a respectable three point shooter in the pros. Especially after making the initial adjustments from the college game to the pro game.

If nothing else, Winslow will easily be the best two-way player in the NBA between himself, Okafor and Tyus Jones. Tyus will have issues guarding the bigger, more athletic NBA point guards and Jahlil had his issues (to say the least) with Kaminsky defensively in the championship game. That said, Okafor will be a force down low on the offensive end. My biggest hope with him is he at least becomes a respectable free throw shooter so opposing teams don't just intentionally foul him in close games prior to the two minute mark. In my opinion, he's got the shooting stroke to get there; like around 60 percent. It's not bad at all. Gotta get there mentally, which I think was more his issue at Duke in regards to his foul shooting than anything.
