I like him and hope he stays. But dayum, he is getting owned today. Playmakers need to make plays. No excuses.
Coen is in charge of the offense and they don't usually put up with it in the NFL. Surely they've been calling for his head all year given McVay's success.
All the talk here about UKs WR room and your guys have shut them down completely. No separation. No easy catches except for the stuff behind the line. QB isn't helping them, but the secondary is putting on a zone clinic.
Would love to see another QB give it a shot, but that’s not Stoops style. Saban changed QBs at halftime of the NC game and won, but Stoops would have been way too stubborn to do that
Yeah, for all of the talk about Brown not being ready for this level I think people are forgetting how good Iowa's secondary is.

I just don’t know what the offense is supposed to do. It has nothing to do with effort or pride or anything else. We are a team that struggled on offense when we had all of our players, it ain’t gonna be better with the most important players not playing.
Probably not. Maybe 1 less pick 6. I just don't see the coaches putting Levis in harms way and would play everything safe. It's more of the morale thing I'm worried about. Maybe the team comes out fired up to have their best players out there with them.
Iowa is terrible on offense. They get in their own way plenty enough. Don't mistake their inept offense for defensive quality.
UK D has been phenomenal. If Crod had played, UK would have a running game, which could have opened things up for Wade.
Plus, he cut behind the DB giving Wade nowhere to throw the ball. He's got to improve his route running. There's more to it than being fast.
Plus, he's dropped some very catchable balls this season by, imo, not being very strong. Needs to improve. The tools are there.
I was at that game, one of the many low points of the Curry era.
And, Brown drops another one right through his hands. He's got a lot of potential but needs a lot of work, imo.

Announcer is saying 6 Iowa sacks but the box score shows 4 sacks with 9 TFL's. That's brutal either way!

Defense got a workout today. Ours not theirs. Our D is the players of the game. Except the 2 plays to LaPorta where they scored we have been fairly good. D Wade just not a great situation. First game played against a top 5 defense. Oh well. Time to get ready for Leary and see how things goes this fall. Will be fun to start the season again.

Defense has been good to the task for 95% of the game.

I have also been perplexed the last 2/3 of the season when we decided that brown would essentially be THE downfield threat. I know he has speed, but he’s light and doesn’t make physical catches and that’s been true all season. To me he’s relegated to throw short and make a play from there while Key is a guy you can at least throw it up down field and have a prayer that he can make a catch with someone draped on him. He made that downfield catch against uf and I’m not sure we went with that again the remainder of the year.
I'm happy with the defense and we know the offense is going to be better next year with Coen and Leary. Yeh today sucks, but next year looks good.
Ask the Iowans who are here. They couldn't score a TD against an FCS opponent this year. Less than 17 pts in 7 games. Their offense is putrid. It could be in the running for the worst CFB offense of all time. And they are missing players.
