I have also been perplexed the last 2/3 of the season when we decided that brown would essentially be THE downfield threat. I know he has speed, but he’s light and doesn’t make physical catches and that’s been true all season. To me he’s relegated to throw short and make a play from there while Key is a guy you can at least throw it up down field and have a prayer that he can make a catch with someone draped on him.

Ask the Iowans who are here. They couldn't score a TD against an FCS opponent this year. Less than 17 pts in 7 games. Their offense is putrid. It could be in the running for the worst CFB offense of all time. And they are missing players.

Our defense is the only reason we're in a bowl at all this year. It's the one thing this team has.

-the oline has played ok...this is a terrible take. Wade is getting plenty of time, he's not doing anything with it.

I sure would have liked to see another option at qb. I'd understand if Wade was going to be our starter next year but he's not. That is unless Leary ends up injured or doesn't fully recover from his current injury.

I've mentioned several times leading up to this game that Iowa's offense this year was the worst offense they've ever had in my 50 years of watching Iowa football. And statistically that's been proven. Just really bad. In the 2nd half you've seen Iowa offense like we saw it the entire season.

Granted, Iowa's O shouldn't be confused with Tennessee's, but anytime you Ringo an 0-8 on third down streak...you're doing pretty well.

I expect us to give up a score on fatigue in the waning minutes.

It is a shame the D has had no help from the other two phases of the game.

I understand the point you’re trying to make, but I agree with @Lost In FL - our defense, while not lights out, isn’t the reason we’ve lost this game.
