UK always fails to deliver during the biggest home moments

One thing that drives me nuts about UK athletics is the failure to deliver during blockbuster games at home.

Last night, we had a great crowd with great weather. It was a good chance to get the natives to buy into this team by beating a big-name team at home after the road win on Tuesday. Instead, we lay an absolute egg that sends half of the crowd rushing to the exits by the 6th inning.

UK football has had so many of these (multiple years against UF, two years ago against UT, 2007 against UT in 4OT, thursday night home game against Auburn, and on and on and on). It seems as if most of our big football wins were on the road during the stoops era.

Getting big home wins is key to keeping the crowds coming back for more. If the locals who are not diehards are never rewarded for their "emotional effort" of getting up for big games, then eventually they stop showing up.
