Ugo injury update

on MeManBoy twitter space, they asked about Calipari's comments. He said his source (which most think is Antiqua) said a couple of day ago, he would be out 10 days, and not trust anything Calipari says in public. But he added he would check with his source and tweet an update in a couple of days.

Real lasagna has a silent G that moves like a real G in silence like lasagna.

I was in Toronto. Ugo struggled to walk, even with crutches. His injury struck me as pretty bad and he would need time to heal. Bradshaw, on the other hand, seemed to be moving around pretty well.
The worst ankle injury I had, I was on crutches in a boot for 2 weeks, then very limited in a laceup brace for 2 more weeks, and was out playing basketball again in 2.5-3 months. This injury was so bad, the ER docs were certain at first it was broken. Nope, just torn on both the inside and outside of the ankle.
With the medical assistance I'm sure he will get, I think worst case is 2 months.

Sometimes it’s better just to break it vs an extreme sprain.

This is very true. I had a very, very bad ankle sprain in high school at football practice my sophomore year.

Foot was black and purple. It went up my leg to about mid calf. Couldn't stand for water to run ovet my foot it was so sore and painful.

Had to be taped the rest of my time playing, practice and of course games. They took me to a specialist, he said it would have been better to break it. Bones heal back strong. Tendons and ligaments do not. My ankle gave out uncountable times since then.

I was there for the first 2 games and he was there. He sat behind the bench. He was not in uniform. I assume that was him. Very tall, very thin guy who got up and listened to huddle conversations. Ugo sat on the far end of the bench and did not get up.
That guy you mentioned might be a student trainer/assistant.. I saw him walking in with team. Looked to be about 7 feet tall, and he had a white spot of hair in the front. Never seen the guy before, but it was not Bradshaw..

And Ugo was there for the first couple of games, but not last Night. Calipari said he flew home early to see if he would require surgery.

That must be Marvin Stone's kid that Ryan Lemond talked about earlier this summer. And if you remember, Marvin had a gray spot in his hair. Supposed to be 6-10.

They have to go get somebody now, they are going to go the rest of the practice time before the season without a center. Get somto on board or take a grad transfer, you can’t practice without a big for the next 3 months

Maybe we can get that Oregon big if he's transfer eligible in August. I would prefer him anyways to somto or ugona.

Just my opinion and no disrespect to either of those players.
No disrespect there.

Dante is a proven four year P5 level veteran who averaged 13 and 8 last season.

Everyone should want him over two unproven players. Especially with one of them being injured and the other one being a potential reclass.

According to an article on facebook he had surgery in New York. Flew from Toronto to New York to have it down not details on the injury. Not quoting anything just read it.
When both of your 7 footers have surgery in the off season, you better scour the grad transfer portal in August to find a big man. Leave no stone unturned.

And get Cyril ready to reclass just in case as well.

Take no chances. Cover your butt, Cal.

Kansas is November 14th. He'll be just fine by then. Bradshaw will be good to go as well. 4 months is a long time! It's going to SUCK to wait that long to see them play again!

Both our bigs with foot/ankle surgeries before August. The injury bug is in mid season form already. This team is so good it had to start early!

I’ve come to believe that the smoke with Somto was real, and then all of a sudden it quieted down because there is already a plan in place. Cal’s comments about grad transfers in August was a clue IMO. Hopefully Dante. With his former assistant coach Gus Fring coming onboard I think it’s a very real possibility, and then Somto can come next year. But we’ll see. I’ve been wrong upwards of 5-6 times so anything’s possible.

Bradshaw will probably be ready for Kansas but not Ugonna.
Id say Ugonna ready sometime in Dec.
Ugonna have to wait and see.

This. We have no idea if the Bradshaw and Ugo surgeries will even be successful.

that is why most athletes go for surgery
it heals faster and most of the times is stronger

We are going to have to show some interest in some late transfers or get Somto to come. Bradshaw and Ugo may very well be ready to go by this fall but what if they aren’t? Plus they will be way behind in practice. they are almost left with no choice but to add someone else

A guy I’m surprised Kentucky hasn’t shown interest in is daindridge from Memphis, he isn’t great but he is another big body who will defend and rebound

I mean how serious is it with Dante? Is this legit or just someone's pipe dreram?
There was some smoke earlier in the summer, so I hope as the old saying goes, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

But it could just be speculation since Dante was heavily recruited by Cal out of HS, his assistant coach at Oregon is now on Cal’s staff, and Dante has completed four years at Oregon, so him being a grad transfer in August isn’t a stretch.

Plus Cal has mentioned adding a grad transfer in August.

So we shall see.

Its obviously better to have these injuries happen in June/July instead of Jan/Feb but damn both of them? wtf
Better not to have them but I get what you are saying. Hope both our bigs are healthy for their future and it would be nice if they were ready for our season openers. If they wont then i hope CAL gets another big in the portal this fall. We will need someone and it would be nice if that someone was a vet player with skills.
