Trent Noah; "I took that shot many times as Malik Monk on my mini-hoop"

Loved it, the airball after not so much.

Before Macy I was more of a pro fan....so Dampier was my shot maker idol. But, what I really wanted to be was a 6'8" 240# power forward. I missed it by about a foot and nearly 100#'s. lol

The player I emulated the most as a kid was Travis Ford. My first experience as a fan was watching that legendary 1993 team take Kentucky back to the Final Four for the first time since 1984.

Ford hit over 50% of his threes, and he was only about 5'9", so I felt like learning to shoot and play like him was doable.

Well that was great investment that Cal insisted to get for our practice facilities, the machine that counts and tells you how you shoot. I don’t think was around when Monk was here but probably they have the paper / computer trail .

From now one that stats of everyone will be in the computer and will be cool for players to compare themselves to former players that now are in NBA and will have the working records of what it took them to get where they are with their craft.

The fact that these records are still in our AD records shows that Cal didn’t burn the house when he left . By contrary he left something behind.

Pope should continue to cultivate the relationship with former players including these from Cal era. It will only help four school and basketball program going forward.
