This kid can shoot the ball. Faced with hard competition, he came through with that last rack and showed what he can do under pressure. I like ths kid...

If he does what Boston, the one and done player from years ago....we may have a hard year.

Yeah, he's definitely a shooter. Is he as good as say Booker or clutch like Harrison? We will see, I hope he has a very memorable career here, being from Kentucky too.

Pope's going to scheme him and Noah open and hide any potential defensive deficiencies by switching things up on defense (i.e. zones and stuff that Calipari would never do).
Perry and Noah aren't the only shooters. Teams are going to have a very tough time keeping our 3s to a minimum. I have a feeling 3s are gonna be raining like BBN has never seen before.
Crazy enough Max Green was the best player in the state too (imo). Glad we are putting out kids that will have a chance again.
Trat’s right. It’s exciting we have a couple freshman that can flat out shoot along with some experienced folks. Been awhile for sure.

I don't know about best player, but I think he's certainly better than Holy Cross.
No offense but if Perry and Noah are getting any kind of significant minutes this season then I don’t see us being a very good team. Especially Noah. Love the kid but he’s slow, couldn’t guard and probably would have a hard time getting his shot off against sec competition. Gives these kids a couple more seasons to mature and then we can talk about them being contributors with that shooting ability and improved athleticism to being able to guard
We shall see, big difference in shooting open set shots and doing so creating your own shot, etc

I'm not expecting either to start or play 25 minutes a game but I think they can be rotation guys. They'll get open looks in this offense. It's Pope's job to put them in a position to where they aren't total liabilities on defense. Can he? I don't know. But I trust him way more than Calipari in that regard.
I mean, they're the 8th and 9th men on the team most likely. So no reason to really worry about it.

I actually forgot about Chandler when I was counting the roster in my head a few minutes ago. He'll probably be above the other freshmen in the pecking order.
I still think one or both of Perry/Noah can provide quality minutes in some games. Some people on here just have Cal PTSD. They'd be victory cigars in the past but Pope can put them in positions to succeed, imo.
The kid who was recruited and expected to play significant minutes for an SEC team that beat us last year? He’s 6’6”, 220 & strong. He’s not guarding other team’s PGs. We have very few explosive type guys but we have ball players. Normal college defensive schemes aren’t isolation defenses like we’ve had the last several years. Before you doubt any of our guys I’d wait and see how it goes. Rumour after the portal was no one besides Butler can guard. lol
Everyone forgets Purdue wanted Travis bad. Trent was headed to South Carolina and both were expected to be contributors.
Why ten games? Make it five games? Half the season? I find it amusing that every fan has his or her own moving targets.
I'm not sure where your going with this.. it's an estimate at best for when a new team turns the corner.
10 games for me is bypassing the less talented teams, giving time for the team to gel, settling into a rotation, and lastly playing a few quality teams.
Yeah, I mean Noah is a 4-star kid that had signed with another SEC school. Some of our fans think he's another Grant Darbyshire.
I'm optimistic about this entire roster.
The team should have a lot of players that play every game. I hope this team is not coached with the mindset that's been here the last few years.

Sorry, they are not 8th and 9th. Maybe 11th and 12th. That is not a knock on them. In my opinion, they simply lack the lateral quickness to defend or get their shot without special schemes specifically designed to get them shots. In 2 to 3 years, I think they improve enough to play a very important role on the team. That doesn’t mean they can’t have good moments this year. I just don’t think they are going to be significant, unless we are struggling.
They are both exactly the kind of players who lit our 5 star Prima Donna’s up every March for the last several years. So, yeah ….
I refuse to count any freshmen out before the season. I remember last year all the preseason talk about how Shepherd wouldn’t contribute and be here 3-4 years. lol.
I think Reed did Perry and Noah a disservice by playing so good last year. Now the expectations for Perry are that he will have the impact that Reed had which is unfair.
I think both Perry and Noah will be multi year players at Kentucky and do very well here but let’s don’t expect for them to have the impact that Reed had from first year.

I think everyone was completely surprised about how well Reed played. I expected him to be a bench warmer last season and now he could start in the NBA this season.

Don't think anyone thinks they'll be starters day 1, but these are type of players can have a big impact on a team that can pass the ball 🏀
Just let them be freshmen. No over the top expectations or comparisons.
With Pope's offense & the way he spreads things out with 3 point shooters everywhere. I look for us to backdoor teams to death. This team is going to be hard to guard, lots of 100 point games.
Perry trivia from high school ... he always kept sweet tea on the bench during games.

YES ... his footspeed and lateral quickness will definitely need work and development, no question. He lacks "twitch" !!!

Takeaway Duke, Clemson, Zags, Ohio ST and U6 Perry and Noah have 8 other preseason games they can show they belong in. Who knows maybe one or both of them becomes the X factor in one of the games above. Who knows if they will be a Josh Carrier or a Reed Shepard but I bet the truth lies somewhere in between for their freshman year. I bet both hit memorable shots this season and I bet some games they won't see the court. Pope will play them based on matchups. We basically have a 10 man rotation now we're talking about our 11th and 12th players.

Didn't he go 100/100 on fts more that once? Not many pros or most anyone else can either. Wether he can play defense and run any kind of offense is yet to be seen. My original post said he was a grt shooter, not a great all position player. Hope he is.

Pretty sure there will be times when Butler/Kriisa are in the game together. Same for Robinson/Brea.
NO, they are not. They are a long way from being those type of players. I hope one day they can become a Richie Farmer.
