This team is poorly coached and lacks discipline.

Coaching is not the issue......players and lack of execution of the coaches plan is the problem. Lack of basketball IQ by many of our players is alarming.

Lacks discipline is a decent criticism. Poorly coached is just sensationalizing. You know there are some great coaches on the staff, not every player is gonna take to it from day one. Saying we have poor coaches is asinine.

Re-read if you want.

I did not say the coaches aren't great or that they are poor. But they are doing a poor job getting through to this team and they often look ill-prepared.

That might be the case, but if the same issues keep repeating themselves that falls on the coaching.

This is not a poorly coached team. That is just silly. You can make the argument that playing Briscoe on the wing is a poor decision, because it totally closes all driving lanes for a team that is supposed to be playing a "dribble-drive."

But in reality, the odds just caught up to us. When you rely on freshmen, every once in a while you have to get a bust. And boy did we ever get a bust. As I've said before, Skal will forever be linked with Josh Selby as the biggest bust in the history of Rivals rankings.

Op is wrong about the coaching of course...but more importantly, imo, about us not having a lack of talent. Our guys get the pub because they play for UK but truth is most of our players are a dime a dozen

Asinine?

You spelled truth wrong

Hey!! Where you been dude, we've missed you! It's a shame Cal doesn't lose much, since you only show up then....

You wish I was here everyday to argue the minutiae HS recruits box scores and pre-game press conferences?

It's a very poorly constructed team roster....no player that can consistently score in the low post and only two players on the whole team who can shoot at all...we have overemphasized length and athletics at the expense of shooting.we have overlooked traditional basketball skill (i.e. dribbling and shooting) in recruiting evaluation and it has bitten us in the ass. The fact that poythress can't dribble more then twice without traveling after 4 years is embarrassing. but it's even more infuriating the staff hasn't forced him to improve it in the offseasons.

This is January, not November. They look exactly the same as they did in November. It was poor coaching.

Cal is the worst offensive coach in SEC... How do we not run Murray and Willis off down screens all nite long??!! Sick of his stand around.. No creativity offense

this team lacks brawlers and bullies...

I know Cal likes for everyone to be "athletes"...that's great...but we have all the athleticism and talent in the world...

we got no one who will knock your granny out of the way to grab a rebound and step on your neck for a put back...

Skal may be a great person and future NBA lottery pick...but right now we need more than what he is able to provide...

I'm not a big fan of the really thin finesse players...this ain't high school, AAU, or the all star circuit goof around games...

this is the big boy leagues...men play D1 basketball...

right now as things currently stand and unless something drastically changes...we're out early...maybe a sweet 16 if we catch a favorable path and Murray decides to go on a 35 a night tear...

Maybe try throwing in Tai.

Cal is a good coach. I wish people who get overly pissed off would wait a day till they post.

Cal is a good coach but even good coaches can have a off year and I think this is the case this season with this group. Yes, we can definitely faulty the players for lack of effort, quitting, etc. but the coach has to fit into the scheme of things somewhere. I love having Cal as our coach but I wouldn't describe what we are seeing this season as an example of his best coaching job. Having said that, the OP and a few others in this thread are definite trolls who only show up after a UK loss. Some of these posters I've never seen or heard of before but they always show up to stir the pot on a bad game night.
