Thiero out again

Yeah like most I’ve thought all along it was back spasms but when they said he was going for more tests it sounded like a bad disc. Hopefully not and just muscle problems. Have you tried the Roman chair? 100 reps a day works wonders.
I haven't heard of the Roman chair? I've found a miracle worker of a chiropractor that has me in a pretty good spot.

Sounds good. Chiropractors made mine worse but looking back, I wen't to some scummy guys. Here is the roman chair. Most gyms have them and I actually bought one a long time ago for $ 99 on ebay. You lean backwards, and do it over and over. It' basically cancelling out all the times you lean forward or bend down during the day. 100 reps takes less than a few minutes and the way I look at it, you break even if you do it every day. You are reversing your spine to take off all the pressure you put on it. I REALLY feel it in my L5 area. Like night and day if you have low back pain and do 100 of them. I do 25 at a time with a minute in between sets. Guy I know swears by it and said 100 day keeps the Dr. away. I agree with him.

Just dropping in to say chiropractic is pseudoscience with absolutely no scientific backing to it. There is no accredited medical school in the country that offers degrees in chiropractic. The person who created the practice claims ghosts told him how to do it. It's not uncommon for chiropractors to literally paralyze their patients.

When I was real little, just out of swaddling clothes, I was taken to my great grandparents house. I guess so they could see the baby. I remember 3 things of the day. 1) They had a wind-up bird in a cage and it was the only stick of furniture in the front room. 2) One of the great grandparents I was held out to to kiss had bristles on their face. 3) They were both invalids and shared the same bed. I have no visual memory of them at all.

60 or so years later, I asked one of my older relatives about my great grandfather. What was he like. What he did for a living. That kind of thing. My cousin laughed. "Do? Old Joe hurt his back when he was young and never worked again."

Backs sometime don't heal, and many people have become drug addicts trying to cope with intractable back pain.

Have a larger horizon that your belt. You really don't have a stake in Thiero's body. He isn't playing hurt to ruin your season.

I can't argue that there are some quacks/cons in the profession; I've run across a couple myself. I can only speak to my own experience and the results. It's funny you mention that the guy who invented the profession talked to ghosts, because I get the impression that the guy I have now is "spirit guided". Kind of along the same lines as an Edgar Cayce type. He's never said anything to suggest this, but he's awfully intuitive (and on target) in his diagnosis/treatment.

We have no solid reason to think more than we're told. Until/unless we hear differently, he'll be fine. Hope he comes back tonight. Haven't heard anything either way. I've had back muscle issues for years. It can come on fast and for seemingly no reason and leave fast or slow. I'm sure they are not gonna rush it with him and I think we'll see him soon. Those things can linger and seems worse in cold weather. I wish him well and look forward to seeing him soon.

I taught for 30 years at a small college. Our basketball program was plagued with back issues among the 3 and 4 positions. The demands of playing in those spots may be conducive to nagging back injuries. Thiero has also had some nasty falls this season. I have no doubt that this is, at least for this season, a chronic pain issue. Full disclosure, I'm not an M.D.

I met with a sports therapist who had at least two very well known pro-Athletes under his care. He said Chiropracty is an "inexact science" and that the adjustments they give would have to be right down to the milimeter to be a correct adjustment and that it's not possible. This was after I had 3 different chiropractoers get me "addicted" to adjustments. I couldn't even function without the adjustment. I remember the last time I ever got an adjustment, the lady at the front desk was in tears when she told me that I had used up all my adjustments so fast that I would have to sign up for another package. She knew the guy was running a scam and I'm sure an insurance scam.

I went to a chiropractor when I had back problems and he cured me. After a few months of treatments my back problems went away and I had immediate relief after each visit. When I went to him I could barely move.

First time I met him he told me this joke:

Q: What do you call a guy who gets As in med school?
A: Doctor
Q: What do you call a guy who gets Cs in med school?
A: Doctor

I stuck with him right away.

When will y’all learn that minutes matter more than starting!!!?

Once Bradshaw started playing (Penn), we had 2.5 games with Theiro and Edwards and Bradshaw fully available. Theiro played 1 more min than Edwards vs Penn, 3 more vs UNC, and while Edwards minutes vs UL aren’t split by half, Theiro played 13 in 1 half while Edwards played 24 in whole game. Even after Theiro injury, Edwards only played 18.3 mpg in last 6 games, just 14.0 in last 2.

Theiro is an important piece to this team, as our best rebounder (or 2nd to Onyenso), or best defender, our most physical player, and along with Wagner one of our two most aggressive to attack the rim and get to the FT line.
Edwards, I’m still not sure what he does well.
Are you saying starting doesn’t matter to you or all of the players, 100%?

I have degenerative disc disease too and I refuse to let a chiropractor anywhere near me. It’s insane how often it is recommended when I mention my problems. Best thing I did was get off my fat ass and exercise, amazing how much better I feel after losing 40+ pounds. Never pain free, but so much more manageable now.

Even my Mom after telling her I’d never go to a chiro recommends her fiancés brother in law saying, “oh but you know him and he’s great”. I’m like Mom the only thing I know about the guy is that he’s a chiropractor…

So, you chose the guy who got Cs not in medical school, but in chiropractor school… When you laughed at that dumb ass joke I bet he smiled real big knowing he secured another mark.

That's the dumbest comment you've ever made on here. And you've already set the bar pretty low. Welcome to ignore, waste-of-space.

Is he playing tonight? And I’m certain Thiero is too young to have degenerative disc disease. lol. He has back spasms or some other reason cal hasn’t played him. No ruptured disc no degenerative. Haven’t you guys seen him active on the bench? He practiced yesterday. He’s not in a wheel chair or hospital bed

The plural of anecdote is not data. There's zero clinical evidence that shows chiropractic works. There's a mountain of it that shows it's nothing more than a placebo affect with a slight chance of paralysis.

While we're on the topic of jokes:

What would we call alternative medicine if it worked? Medicine.

Go re-read my post. I never made any claims about it. I simply relayed my own experience. Go argue with someone else who gives a crap. While you're at it, imagine going to a surgeon and telling him you have back pain. Wonder what he'll suggest. LOL Go to a G.P. and I wonder what DRUGS he'll suggest.

Also, you referring to chiropractic as "pseudoscience" just PROVES you don't know what you're talking about. You don't even know what the word actually means.

Might not be tonight or even saturday.. but I bet he's playing by next week. I'll take that.

Probably could have been back 2 weeks ago, but whatever. Let's just try and get this last win or two without him.

He used the word correctly. If you don’t agree with him that’s one thing, but it’s used properly in its context. Wipe the snivel from under your nose now. You write like a Ben Shapiro YouTube video headline by the way…and I can PROVE it with FACTS and EVIDENCE.
