The Bulls weren’t awful when Jordan left the first time in 94. They went from a 57-25 with him to a 55-27 without him. Then Jordan came back in 1995 and the Bulls won less playoff games that year than they did in 1994 without him.
Meant after he was gone for good. Of course they were good the year he retired first...the team was still intact. It wasn't like he was surrounded by scrubs.
'95 was statistically his worst year ever having come back a month or so before playoffs after a near 2 year retirement.... understandable.
