The unexplainable hope against Texas this weekend

For a team that has been as disappointing as any I remember in UK football history, there's something about that 20.5 line that still makes me immediately say, "that's too many points. I don't know why, but that's too many points."

We've been outscored 123-49 against SC, Vandy, Florida, and Auburn (wow). For some of us optimists at the beginning of the season, those weren't even toss-ups.

We've been outscored 58-50 against the three Top 10 teams we've played this year (Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Georgia). For those same optimists, this is the result that actually makes sense.

It makes zero sense and I can't even imagine what the highlights would look like for us to win, but this is a team/staff that has shown it knows how to cover in the big games just as much as it knows how to muster up an absolute clunker in the winnable games this season. I'm not predicting a win, but I am predicting a cover.
