Is all forgiven if Stoops and UK go into Texas and dehorn the #3 Longhorns?

Just a quick heat check, you do realize UK is tied for 9th in active bowl streaks in CFB at 8 years? Only Georgia, Bama and Oklahoma’s are longer in the SEC.
That stat is as good as saying that Stoops is the winningest coach in UK history. Great we have a bowl streak. Except for the Citrus Bowl, the bowls are meaningless lower level games. As I said, he has been here long enough that we should be going to higher level games every year.

The Cayuts would then be but a win over U of L in Lexington from becoming bowl eligible.

Make no mistake about it, The Cats will be as healthy as they have been all yr heading into Austin and this team has proven to rise to the occasion v top 10 teams all yr.

The 20.5 pt line is a complete joke and should be taken!

Cats in a claw biter!!
NO ABSOLOTLY NOT.....If we're good enough to beat Texas at Texas. Then the losses to Auburn & Vanderbilt are inexcusable. Stoops should have had the team ready for these 2 games that we lost.

I’ve been as positive for Stoops as has anyone. Search my posting history the last 4 years if you are new to the Board.

I will not stop going to games to send a “message” as every dollar counts BIG in this new age of revenue sharing and NIL.

Stoops gave us a couple of ten win seasons and a sunburn on a couple of New Year’s Days . . . more than Claiborne or Brooks accomplished, but there is simply something now missing.

He’ll get 2025. With the huge buyout, and revenue sharing looming, that is a given. But 2025 will be the measure of whether the stumbles of the three prior seasons can be forgiven or forgotten.

We lose alot man. Not sure how next season is a good barometer on the status of Stoops
Got to give him a few more seasons.
He’s earned it.
Sorry

Well, did you notice late in the second half against Murray State how MASSIVE the defensive youngsters with hardly recognizable numbers were? I didn’t track who played, but we have a LOT of young talent on the team, including QB Boley and young WR’s who stood out.

I just don’t want to see us start and maintain a multi-year slide. Arguably, this is our third season of just that, and a fourth will cost us a lot of fans and support at just the wrong time.

Stoops will get 2025. God knows, I hope he can re-capture whatever magic was possessed by those 3 Star loaded teams of the past.

Sat is going to shock America.

Sat is going to shock America.

Frankly, I hope so!!

Without regard to Stoops’ status, it would give me great pleasure to ruin Texas’s season and (once again) show the world the actual depth of talent and competitiveness of SEC football. Oklahoma and Texas were given easy paths their first seasons. Oklahoma has shat the bed. I hope Texas does Saturday.

Michigan, Vandy and OK are all nothing special. Those are Texas’ best wins.
I smell an upset Sat.
They will over look us as we are a trap gm with at Texas AM coming up for Texas.
Would a win at #3 Texas be the greatest win in UK football history?
I think it would and if we beat U of L in the Bluegrass next weekend and win a bowl game Stoops will not only garner a lifetime contract but UK will build his statue on Campus in front of Commonwealth Stadium and most of you guys will be zipped up forever.
Texas has zero wins over the current top 25.
Kentucky has 1 at #9 Ole Miss. there!!
Anyone that doesn't think we can win Sat is just not doing their homework.
Has UK “ever” won 2 road games over two top 9 teams in the same season?
I bet it would be another 1st for UK and the Stoopster!

Our guys COULD make this a fairly competitive game if they go in with a mindset of putting a physical beating on them the whole game and whatever happens, happens. That goes for the OL also. This team is a level down from the mental toughness it should have.

It will be more competitive than people think but UK won't win. Teams are getting banged up this part of the season and just want to get out of the game with a W. UK just played a cupcake and had a bye week. They should be fresh compared to Texas who just played Arkansas last week.

We have defeated three No. 1 ranked teams in program history, one on New Year’s Day.

A win in Austin would likely be the 4th best by any objective measure.

It would trump the home win v LSU IMHO.
Leaving only the Sugar Bowl win v OK and at Jackson v Ole miss as bigger.

It’s arguable. The LSU win is boosted by their eventual National Title. And it is diminished by Kentucky’s 3-5 SEC finish.

Ole Miss (IIRC) faded badly after the Jackson, Mississippi upset.

To date, this season’s road win at Ole Miss looks better and better . . . from the perspective that they are still competing for the Title(s).

No way the SEC let's UK win in Texas. They want Texas to win SEC so they can be accepted to the greatest conference in football. Not to mention the college-football playoff sending. We are looking at a 65 - 7 loss and will have to walk back to Lexington with a sore ass.

No...

That's why we're in the predicament we are in now. Stoops' entire tenure here is barely eeking out 6-7 wins. Struggling all season and pulling out a bowl invite in the 11th hour.

We're past the point of 6-7 wins being worthy of contract extensions, bumps for entire staff, elation from fan base.

.500 is great immediately after a 2 win season. It's not so great 12 years in.

If Stoops wills this team to a bowl game, I think you can absolutely tip a cap to him. Would be no small feat at all. You have to beat Texas to do that and you have to follow that with a win over UofL. Not something anyone could feel sure of at the end of a good season let alone what’s in the books this year. Texas could cost us more injuries, could take away a lot of juice from the team and still come up short.

My primary thing with Stoops is that he has appeared disinterested and disengaged. So, bowling doesn’t change that, necessarily. He has to have his old passion for me to say he should come back and probably would come back. It really isn’t about the Ws and Ls here at the end, it’s the fire. If he walks, and I still think he will, he will already leave as a father of UK’s modern football. If he won both he may leave with more respect if he pulls that off, nationally if not locally.
If we beat UL we ll get a 5-7 bowl so raise the bar.

5-7 is no guarantee to a bowl. 6-6 is the standard and everyone knows that. Stop playin.

I said you tip a cap to him if he beats Texas and Louisville (if you read all of my post, you'll see I mention this specifically). It's not likely, though not impossible. It would be commendable, honestly.

I'll do with my bar what I like. You do with your bar what you like.
