The UL game just got REAL

I was bad wrong when I picked UK to win last night by 24. Louisville will be worked up for us. We will beat them but it might not be easy
The thing about Kansas, and the reason we always seem to perform well against them, is they like to extend the D and go for on-ball pressure. If they roll out that sort of defensive scheme again, we are going to look more like we did against Duke than we have these past few games against packed in defenses.
UL game is always real. Regardless of what their fans might say through a meth induced haze, we make or break their year. This season, the entire program will be looking for something to divert attention away from hooker-gate. If the refs are calling the slap and tickle fouls which they are supposed to be treating as a point of interest, we'll do fine. If we end up with the UCLA refs that seemed not to get that memo, it could be a tough night.
Not too concerned.
Refs WILL call fouls in this game. That benefits us. And we're damn hard to beat at home.
However, if this game was at the Yum, I'd be worried. This team might struggle some on the road this year.

Could UL come to Rupp and beat us this year? They gave MSU all they could handle. And you know they can only be more confident after our loss at UCLA. And then there is the fact that Cal is giving the players time off for Christmas, and "not worried about Lousiville."
Sure it's possible. They played MSU tough on the road, so they've already played in front of hostile crowd. They have two good guards. Our front court did not look impressive in our last outing. I'm sure their fans feel like they could win. Should be a helluva game.... as usual.
Fortunately, our team isn't full of losers who will spend 3 weeks agonizing over the possibility. So we should be fine.
It is a possibility. I will say this; I work in Louisville about half the month, every month. My Louisville fan employees have been ever so confident the last few days. We need to beat them back down to reality.
Good bigs? I don't think so. Centers and forwards scored 13 pts and were out rebounded by 10. Shoot well? Two guys scored 44 of 67 points, that ain't happening in Rupp against this team. L1C8. Almost anything is possible but there are things that just aren't probable and slick Rick walking out with a "W" is probably one of those things.

Sure, I think they could beat us, but will they? I doubt it. Their fans say this every year, and the only time Cal has lost to them, was at their place, on a last second shot, when we lost in the 1st round of the NIT, and they won a NC. So, the odds are not with them. And, I think Cal made the statement that he was not worried about them, because he looks at it as just another regular season game, getting ready for the tournament. I don't think he said it with a meaning that they couldn't beat us, so we're not worried.
Just like Card fans here in Louisville, some of you are believing the yearly propaganda leading up to the game. One game back, the general consensus on here was that we were going to spank the dirty birds. Now suddenly we are playing some juggernaut because "they gave Mich St. a close game on their home court." 
Let me remind you chicken littles, that we didn't just play Duke close on a neutral court, we throttled them from beginning to end. Yes, we had a bad game at Ucla. So what, we are a very young team and we are going to lose some games. Louisville won't be one of them. Slow down their two transfer guards, and limit forced turnovers (that Louisville MUST create to win), and it's over. Louisville is a far better match-up for us than Ucla was.

Good grief, this is a joke thread. I mean anybody can anybody on any given night. Basketball is down this year. But you stop lee and they lose big. Lose.
anything is possible....I've been bald for over 40 years now and it's possible I could wake up tomorrow with a head of hair. now when it likely happen no.....and I mean NO. yes they played msu close does anyone know that msu just came off a 5 game stretch in 10 days and just flew in from the west coast. with that they were more than likely tired and sleep walked through that game and still won. loservilles bigs are going to have to deal with the cats 3 guards driving on them in the lane and not fouling. trust me on this our 3 guards are going to cause more problems for them than their 2 will for us. we will not turn it over like spitino needs to win. possible yes but I bet I have a head of hair before loserville beats us this year at rupp.
looking at the box score from that game the point production from each team was very similar, in that the two guys scored 44 for luavel, and valentine and forbes had 45 of 71 pts for msu. to this point in time each team looks like a two horse show. hopefully come dec 26 we will have balanced scoring from our lineup and play hard defense against lee and lewis.

Doubt it. Their people think they are a top team nationally (giggle), and yet they have zero quality wins. They're playing awful teams every night except when they played a real team once (and lost). Cal beats UL, that's what he does. Don't expect this year to be any different, especially at home.

A quality loss doesn't scare me and that's all UL has. Can you imagine UK fans hanging their hat on a quality loss? Not me. We have so much room to get better and Cal has shown us his teams are going to do that. UL might have played their best already. I like my team.
