The Ukraine war. (Yes, we'll mind our manners)

Does this explain it for you? Considering stupid things, that is.

I mean... you just refuse to see it don't you? LOL.

I'm still very confused. If Russia is losing to Ukraine, and their military is a joke (according to LOLMAN, and others) why do they also think putin will run roughshod over all of NATO in a land grab?

These two things do not reconcile. At all.

Therefore, I'm left to believe these people are idiotically stupid human beings.
Not sure WTF you used my name in that post as NATO would wax the friggin floor with Russia. Hell, the UK, France, and Italy would be a match for the hollowed out Russians. The Russians have a gigantic morale problem and I don't think the current culture of their country is producing very effective warriors. Your average Russian soldier probably hates their own military as much as we do. Russia is in a pickle and IMO ripe for another implosion a la their last collapse.

This History Legends guy on YouTube is such an obvious Russian shill. Only makes vids on Ukraine when they do something historic like the Kharakiv offensive. But russia takes a small village with two streets and he makes 3 vids on it. Lmfao.

I’m just glad we’ve progressed as a nation from spreading democracy through enhanced interrogation techniques and fighting wars based on fabricated claims of weapons of mass destruction to now spreading democracy through acts of eco terrorism and funneling money we refuse to count to one of the most corrupt areas of the world.
Glad to have you on board.

Not so much. He did a videos when Russia lost Karkhiv and Kherson.

"collosal defeat for Russia" doesn't sound like a shill.

"Russians on the run"

I think giving the Russians any credit in this war from a tactical analysis is seen as being pro Russia. The narrative is that Russia sucks, they have horrible equipment, horrible training, and are losing the war. Lots of people in Europe just don't see it like that.

And now, I’m confused!

If Russia’s victory is inevitable (according to Wildcats1st, hmt5000 and many others) why would they not think Putin would run roughshod over some or all of NATO in a land grab.

These two things are incompatible.

but the emerging new power base will NOT
be US based you ignorant prick - we are waning rapidly

other nations are probably celebrating our decline -
Some (few) other nations are creating a false narrative of our decline.

And beginning in 2018 on these forums, CastleR, you have been absolutely transfixed on the coming “reset,” leading to our massive collapse.

Oddly, so was my father. I still have his library from the 1960’s and 1970’s, books bearing alarming titles on their spines: “The Coming Currency Collapse,” etc., etc.,

You frequently ask my opinion on these topics.

The best education I received on our impending doom, I learned at the age of 14, in 1977.

My Mom had two 1927 Reader’s Digests, then 50 years old, and now damn-near 100 years old. I still have those too.

I spent a weekend reading those Reader’s Digests (yes, boring teenager). Both were filled with the litany of our nation’s shortcomings, our comparative lack of education and technology, etc., etc. Neither identified the coming “American Century,” of technological, economic and military strength.

When I pointedly asked you to cite a source on “the coming reset,” you cited an internet publication that indicated that 85 percent of humanity was to be put to slaughter by sometime in either 2021 or 2022.

I made it through!!

I’m afraid you have fallen victim to cheap pulp-fiction, and you (like my Father) get a little existential thrill, reading such trash.

But we have a history of selling such non-sense . . . and it began well over 100 years ago.

A few months, ago you posted, cryptically, that we “lead in nothing.”

I pointed out that we clearly lead the world in quantum computing, likely the most important area of true “power struggle.”

But that post of yours on the old Ukrainian thread aged more poorly in 2021 than any of us could have anticipated . . . predating our successful ignition of nuclear fusion by mere months.

In short, CastleR, we lead in everything, and the list of countries pining for our demise is far outweighed by those who seek our alliance in a troubled and turbulent world.

^Very true.

Amazing how so many underestimate our gigantic military advantage. We can just lend a few of our weapons to Ukraine and they can fight the 2nd most powerful country on earth to a standstill.

Here's something to keep in mind. While we are giving Ukraine these weapons, that's not our best stuff. While we're still giving Ukraine these weapons, it's still not our guys doing the fighting. While we're giving Ukraine these weapons, our training, readiness, and tactics aren't the ones using those weapons.

But, laughably, none of those even touch on the biggest difference. Ukraine is not fighting with US Air Power overhead. Imagine all the above with our air support. Precision bombing and attack helicopters all over the place supporting perfectly in unison with our advancing ground forces.

Us fighting Russia conventionally will look exactly like the first Gulf War. Period. We go right through them flawlessly. The last couple of years of the Repubs down talking our GREAT military is sickening and our boys deserve better.

Welp on the newest edition of “we are totally not being led by warhawks and an incompetent demented puppet into WWIII” China is supplying Russia arms and the U.S. is deploying more troops to Taiwan.

Peace would've been wiser, more lucrative too. Just because we can dominate through these tactics, doesn't make it the best course of action.

Lucrative for Putin and the Oligarchs but not for his conquered subjects. Someone had to say no to Putin’s imperialistic fantasies.

Ukraine said no and psychopath Putin went on the warpath. He must be defeated, not appeased.

It's press gangs. Men that aren't signing up to fight are being rounded up on the street and forced to fight. Videos like this all over the west of Ukraine. They need meat for the eastern front and those dudes in uni's aren't going.
I get press gangs. The specific video statement was "at gunpoint". That's a false claim for that video. Net, it throws every other claim into the class of highly doubtful.

DeSantis = Disqualfied!!!!!

It's too early to draw any sweeping conclusions. Could just be pandering to a portion of the base. Also, that article was written by Jonathan Chait Choad, who I find generally falls into the "unsavory" pile of commentators (not quite full on "loathesome"). Anyway, I don't necessarily agree with a "blank check" approach either; at the same time, I did favor giving more aid earlier, including back in 2014 (with appropriate tracking/auditing) instead of the very incremental approach we've taken. I do think DeSantis makes a valid point about the projection of American weakness (perceived, if not actual) by Biden (and earlier, by Obama). Obviously Putin is to blame, but would he have been so bold if not for the projection of weakness? By the same token, European slackness (especially German) in security matters also emboldened Pooty-poot. So, it's a complex stew that was brought to simmer in 2014, and boiled over in 2022.

Not at all. They're only reason they are not emboldened is by the Ukraine defense supported by NATO. That support stops & Russia will prevail as well as causing China & Iran to believe they can't be stopped. But some chose to be willfully naive. Moldova is being undermined and scared sh!tless as we write.

My god nato sounds like those larping incel lefties in Antifa. Maybe they should be worried about Putin conquering them if that’s the mindset. At least the warhawks in this thread just want to funnel money to the MIC that presumably employs them and haven’t resorted to weird fantasy references that I’ve seen.

Ukrainians are the same as Russians, in that respect, just as they are in others.

It's not our role, nor is it the interests of the American people, to settle their civil war(s).

IT's only use there, other than MIC profits, is domestic political distraction/ignorance.

Vlad's got you clowns calling it a "civil war" now? Toss a few rubles into your political campaigns and you guys will pretty much do anything I guess.

I also notice Vlad is flapping his gums about nukes while the Republicans simultaneously compliment his propaganda with their constant cowering over the horror of nuclear war.

Funny, almost like you guys are all in sync?

Since some think we shouldn't be sending aid to Ukraine, surely they think we shouldn't be putting troops on China's sovereign territory, right? I mean why should we care more for Taiwan? We don't need their advanced chips, right? We can go it alone, right?

"The U.S. is markedly increasing the number of troops deployed to Taiwan, more than quadrupling the current number to bolster a training program for the island’s military amid a rising threat from China."

From 70 to a couple hundred. Wow.

Yet Putin rolls a half million guns blazing into Ukraine killing innocent civilians right and left to the point the US has officially declared Russians war criminals and crickets chirping from you guys because Russia has been funding Republican campaigns in the US since the 80s...

We have an unsustainable national debt and many times more in obligations. Our government is a financial house of cards, as is our economy due to outsourcing. The middle class is dying because of that, while our children are taught at worst to hate themselves and at best that our values aren’t worth defending. Meanwhile, millions upon millions of people move across our borders in numbers that have been called invasions at every point in history except now.

Reader’s Digest scared your grandparents so that must mean society never crumbles. I guess the joke’s on everyone who believes the polls that consistently say our country’s headed in the wrong direction. Those idiots.

But our computational power is through the roof!

The middle class is dying because of that...
History lesson for you because you desperately need it.

The United States once had the healthiest largest middle class the world had ever known. Built on the back of strong Unionization and the GI Bill. The United States was the largest CREDITOR nation on earth. More money was owed to us than any country on the globe.

Then along came Ronnie Reagan.

8 years after Reagan took office the United States was the largest DEBTOR nation on earth. The product of a credit card administration that bought in the myth of trickle down economics that has destroyed every country on earth that has tried it. They deregulated the banking industry and destroyed that sector making federally guaranteed deposits effectively Las Vegas gambling loot for speculators and vultures taking out S&L loans with terms that never required repayment. Legalized stealing. They ushered in the era of demonizing Government service and Union busting. The bottom fell out of the middle class and the rich blossomed under generous tax cuts.

We, in 8 years, effectively created the recipe fo another Mexico. Small very rich upper class (Mexico has more billionaires than the rest of Latin America combined), virtually no middle class, and a large powerless poverty class.

In all the years since Reagan began the destruction of the middle class, it has only once statistically rallied briefly under the Clinton administration. No ground was gained during Obama and I suspect none will be gained under Biden. It certainly hasn't been gained under the obscene Trump tax cuts nor the equally obscene Bush tax cuts.

That's why it galls me to my core to see the "new" Democrat party allow these thieving Republicans to even attempt to claim the middle class. The middle class is ours. Never forget that.

vhcat70 is very good at politics. I think he is right. Can we please get Ron DeSantis to publicly say what vhcat70 just posted as I think that should be the main plank of the next Republican Convention. Chant it while the speakers are speaking just to hammer it home.

Need to cut SS then. That's where the overwhelming spending is.
sS is an unfunded liability. It is seperate from the national debt. If ss was cut it would not affect the debt only the unfunded debt obligations of 94 Trillion. There are laws preventing the borrowing of money to fund SS
