The hits just keep coming

We’ve heard the staff is quietly confident in the QB position, going forward (post-Levis).

Most assumed that either Hogan or a looming transfer was the reason for the confidence.

It might well have been confidence in Sheron, after all.

I hope he gets a shot to show what he can do, whether Saturday or later on.
Always have to root for the Ky boys ala myself.

If it's a concussion he's not questionable he's out after what happened to Tua. If he hurt his leg on the safety it can be too bad since he played the rest of the game.
It’s his leg or something close to that, I think they are just being cautious but the drop off from Levis to the backups is a huge one. So unless he really hurt Kentucky needs him

Caller on the KSR pre-show named Andy (not the regular caller Andy) said that it's a toe injury (I'm guessing turf toe, which someone else in this thread also mentioned, I believe, or maybe it was on Twitter). Said Levis WILL NOT play. Said his source was pretty direct and not a friend's barber's cousin type of deal. Take it FWIW.

If it’s turf toe it’s all about pain management and how well you can deal with discomfort, Levis is to much of a competitor to sit out unless he physically can’t play, I bet he does everything he can to try and play Saturday

Didn't Levis have a finger injury? I recall one of his fingers pointing west while the rest of his fingers were pointing east? Non-throwing hand?

Another point to add is if we lose to scar, Levi’s probably won’t come back. Why would he? Pretty much locked up getting drafted by second round. Guarantee he won’t risk injury and then our season will be officially screwed
Lmao if you think Levis is a kid who would even consider pulling the plug.

The 5 star kid from Georgia is another option that has been mentioned

Of course he could end up anywhere if he transfers. But if I were guessing I would expect Georgia Tech if he leaves. Here is why, he originally committed to OU, went on a visit didn't want to be that far from home, decomitted and committed to UGA a week or so later. His dad is the coach at a private school in Athens, his grandparents are there and aren't moving. Kid wants to be near home.

A loss to South Carolina would be pretty devastating for this season. Terrible luck
But if UKs back up plays well and wins, thats a great thing. If you say you play big time football, one player out can’t stop the show.. It’s put up or shit up if Levi’s doesn’t play.

I have just seen his name mentioned, if he wants to come here we will welcome him

If you're a lineman, sure. Playing QB w turf toe is another story completely

Having been a Reds fan back in the early 2000's this sounds like a move they would make when a starting pitcher gives up 7 runs in 1 and a third ... you could almost guarantee the next day the pitcher would be sent to the DL or have an injury to report . The P shows no sign of injury , just got bombed . And it was never " he just had a horrible outing" , it was blamed on something else.

I love the fact that UK has such great fans that will say our season is over if our backup has to play, yet bitch every week that our back up doesn't play. Pick one people. If our coach decides this kid or you should start at QB, either him or you need to go play. Why do our fans bitch so much?
The ONLY people I’ve seen wanting the backup quarterback to play were just wanting the backup to get a little game experience. Experience that would be valuable in a situation such as Levis not being able to play. I wouldn’t think that would be too hard to understand , but continue bitching about people bitching , lol .

1. Stinks that Levis is possibly out...and even if he play....he's at best dinged up.
2. If Sheron is 2nd string....wow if true. We lose Beau Allen to Deuce Hogan...now Sheron is the backup? WTH...Sheron is not a great QB prospect from Somerset. The kid has a similar noodle arm to Beau Allen...
3. But this falls at the feet of the Oline. We all saw you can't have your QB taking these kind of hits game in and game out. Yes Levis has held the ball too long at times, Smoke/Wright have struggled to pick up protections at times, etc....but 75% of this on the Oline and Yenser.

In the end, we need to see the season unfold if the Oline doesn't really improve...then we need to take a long look at Yenser. Not being able to pick up simple stunts of the DE crashing down and DT looping outside...pretty basic thing as a former Oline. Why Cox is a hot mess at C is troubling when he was totally fine as guard in his first getting snaps last year, why Goodwin can't sniff snaps with the fiasco at the tackle spot (Kinnard and Landon Young were at least playable as true Fr at the tackle spot), etc... a lot of concern up front that will always be holding back the potential QBs, Dane Key, Barion Brown, etc...until we can deal with it up front.
I don’t think Hogan had anything to do with Allen transferring. I had been told that Sheron had inched ahead of Allen last year , before Hogan was even a thought.

A poster on HOB said he practiced today and was out of the boot looking good. He had been in a boot since Sat
That is great news, taking the Cat’s now and only giving a few points. Should be a easy win if Will plays and plan on more CRod handoff’s either way.

Well, sht. I was hoping to see Sheron play. If the staff has him at #2 QB then I want to see what he's got!

Would LOVE and mean FRKN LOVE to see us crush USC with our backup QB.

Personally I have zero interest in a 4* or 5* who sat the bench at Bama/Georgia/Ohio coming to UK from the portal, expecting to be handed the '23 keys . Gimme a G5 guy who has played & started for a season or 2.
That would be the ideal situation, but if the boise state kid Is the best option, taking a chance in a 5 star talent might be the better option

That info came from Jeff Drummond. I was told he later said he wasn't sure

We're gonna do great. Our staff has shown they can and will get someone in here to lead this team if Will doesn't stay and our backups aren't ready.

When Beau Allen checked out on us, we knew this could become an issue. Like it or not, this has been hanging over us since that happened. I’m putting my faith in coaches that behind the scenes they have preparing the other 2 guys. It’s a problem with our offense not blowing people out. We don’t really get the backup any meaningful playing time. And let’s be honest, we haven’t seen Levis doing the daredevil stuff he did last year. He’s a top 7 pick in the draft, he’s going to protect himself, the coaches are going to protect him so if it means we have to take an L, we will take one. And we should all be ok with it.
