Overreacting is the norm for this board

What did people think this year would be like in a loaded SEC? Did they think we would come in and dominate and be eight and zero? We got a brand new coach and a totally new roster. We are currently ranked 14th in the country. I am thinking that this looks pretty good.

None of this excuses our loss to Arkansas. It makes BBN looks like jerks with our adverse opinion on Cal. Turns out he is a great coach with a better roster type of b.s. from this game which never should have been close. No spin is going to change that.

Yeah we should all be celebrating losing at home to our former coach when he came into rupp with a terrible team and ran Kentucky off the court. Let’s all be happy the Kentucky players showed up and are happy.
In my younger days, I probably would have thought like ths.

It's funny, we gloss over the fact that we don't even have a capable point guard that can play. We gloss over the fact that Carr isn't able to play like himself.

We just expect Pope to be down 3 key players and "MAN UP, THIS IS KENTUCKY."

Some of you will be shocked to find out, missing key players matters. You can't always just put on the Kentucky jersey and channel some magical power from the ghost of Adolph Rupp.

We're a top 10 team fully healthy. We're not fully healthy.

Oh, he is absolutely not a great coach in 2024/2025. Wagner, Thiero, and Z wanted this game badly. Our guys just saw it as another game. They have no Calipari ties. There was no chip on the shoulder for them.

We're also missing our top 2 PG's. We're basically missing our starting PF. He played 15 ineffective minutes due to his back issue.

I fully expect Arkansas to lost most of their upcoming SEC games. This was the one they cared about the most. They got it.

I have yet to see a uniform opinion on this board. The idea that “we” behave in unison is a ridiculous statement.

ESPN set this up to make us look bad by overhyping the boo thing. Have they ever cared about another coach getting booed?

You cry 24x7, though. If we land a recruit, you immediattely say "yeah, but we need x or y now". It's suffocating negativity and makes our fanbase look like chumps.....then you play the victim, lol. Pathetic.

You ever decide to give any respect to older people or do you still have zero respect for them as you said????

I keep thinking that letting what a bunch of teenagers do on a basketball court is just wrong. I keep thinking it might be healthy to let this board go. I keep thinking it's just too painful when.... But, here I am. 😧

We can’t keep using the butler excuse when Arkansas was missing their best PG as well. Arkansas came in and kicked our ass. It’s a terrible loss.

If me saying this team needed a playmaker all along so crying then so be it. Teams are just pressuring Kentucky now and look Kentucky can’t get into their sets. Pope messed up there. I don’t play the victim because every time I’m right back here, the problem is my points are being proven right and your group just wants to ignore them. And with the old people, it depends on the old person.

Was Arkansas missing their backup PG? Obviously not.
Was Arkansas starting PF limited/basically not able to give them anything? Obviously not.

Cal had too many guys that need the ball. Boogie Fland going down isn't necessarily good for Arkansas. But it's allowed Davis and Wagner to do what they do. Arkansas isn't dramatically worse.

If we had Kriisa, I'd be more on board calling this a terrible loss. But we don't even have our backup PG.

Some of you aren't in touch with reality.
So losing at home to a team 1-6 in conference who only has 8 players to begin with is fine because Kentucky is missing our starting PG and guard who averaged like 2-3 ppg game, am I understanding that correctly? It’s a bad loss man, I don’t get how you’re trying to justify losing that game, Arkansas is dogshit, poop water, insert next shit based pun. They are bad, and the worst part is Kentucky got ran off the floor.

Playing basketball in the best conference in the country WITHOUT a PG is hard. It's not about Kriisa's points. It's about having a guy that can consistently initiate the offense and distribute the ball. We're having to have a 7 foot center bring the ball up the court every possession. If I told you before the season, Amari Williams is basically our point guard--would you have high expectations? You're insane if you say yes.

You're NOT going to believe this. But we're not a very good team without Butler, Kriisa or Carr (who played but wasn't himself). We're just not a good basketball team with the injuries.

I don't need to make an excuse. I'm telling you facts. We are not good with the injuries. If Butler and Kriisa miss the rest of the season, we're in for a long ride. Before the injuries, the rotation was

We're to the point we're being FORCED to play Perry and Chandler. If I told you before the season Perry and Chandler would be forced into significant minutes during SEC play--would you have high expectations? Again, insane if you say yes.

Now if we get healthy, we'll do a lot better. It's amazing what having your good players healthy will do for a team.

I'm broadly with you but all home losses to dicey teams are fairly bad

Nothing to be in a melt down about but the loss will be a hit to the seeding and our chances at a double bye some degree.

We got out athleted for the first time. Only Oweh and Williams could compete that way.

If we expect more, we will need more upside talent and stop trying to pretend we can purely out scheme every one every game.

We also just got caught with a scenario that everyone was prioritizing the game in a way our players would have a near impossible motivation disadvantage.

They just had a home game against a bottom feeder while both fan bases were crazy, out former players had all kinds of chips on their shoulders, and Cal used one of his "above their heads" cards he has one or two of each year.

We still need the boys and our coach to do their things but the players especially were in an odd spot.

I think they run the usual hogs effort off the floor but the "One for the Gipper" factor and a locked in Calipari really helped them.

This post is spot on. Kudos.

I’ve been hearing people complaining about the recent spike in turnovers as if it’s some inexcusably inexplicable thing. Umm, no, it’s actually a very predictable thing because we’re playing with NO POINT GUARDS. We’re not just missing our starting point, but we also don’t have a legit backup with Kriisa also out.

Playing without a point generally means more bad turnovers. That’s the way it’s always been in this sport, and presumably, always will be.

I think we all expected to beat Cal and a 16 Arkansas team when favored by 10 pts at home.

I think this is the problem everything to this point has exceeded expectations but then you lose at home to a 1-6 SEC team at home how do you want people to react ?

Sing kumbaya ?

Kentucky fans rarely celebrate a team during the season. We tend to look back at teams with nostalgia more than anything
