They've made up dark energy and dark matter because that is what's required to balance the equations, not because they are real. First, there's a huge flaw in that picture. That diagram assumes that the moon is at a fixed point in the sky. We know this isn't the case because it moves in the sky at night. Also, 19:10 to 3:10 is an eight hour difference. It would be very easy to see the moon in both skies at the same time.

Also, you do realize that if the moon was as close as flat Earthers proclaim, not only would the moon always be full because you believe the sun never sets below the horizon of Earth, but the angle on viewing would be so great the further away from the equator that not only would they see a flipped moon, but also parts of the "dark" side of the moon too, right?
