Tai Wynyard Suspended

Do you really think Cal would use this as an opportunity to get rid of a kid at this time,particularly a 6'10" one? This team and Cal have plenty to worry about other than how to get rid of Wynyard.
If Cal right now knows everyone is coming back then maybe but we all know that is not the case and that bigs will be a position of need next year.Wynyard is not a Cal type player but he could be a "necessary evil "next year
Does anyone think that part of the problem could be that this kid is from another side of the earth where is isn't even basketball season right now? Think about it. How screwed up your mind would be trying to adjust. It might also have something to do with him thinking it was ok for the other kid to have a gun. He's not from here, probably doesn't understand gun culture and what is good vs bad.
I think if the season adjustment were going to be an issue, it would have been last year.
If what we're hearing is true, he was just going along with a bad idea. Doesn't make him a bad guy, and it doesn't really sound like he *did* anything other than make a bad choice about where to go and who to go with.
It's about as tame an offense as I could have imagined for something that gets him publicly suspended.
This makes a great deal of sense,in light of recent events Cal and UK had to get ahead of this before it became public knowledge and an issue on the 6 o'clock news. Te only thing a bit strange is the timing(on the heels of the injury and out for the rest of the season info yesterday)

I think that may have been out of the control of Cal OR Cal buffered it just a little bit by not piling-on all at once to make them separate incidents.

The kid grew up in a place where the damn seasons are backwards compared to here. It's all he has known until a few years ago. There has to be an effect. I wonder if it is also why we hear about him being so great in summer leagues?
The gun thing, he probably just assumed that all yanks (Americans) carry guns and its no big deal. Kinda surprised he wasn't caught carrying a big knife around.
I'm not one for giving him much credit but last week Mr Bangs said Tai would not likely play for UK again.

This is really silly. He's now on his third year in Lexington. I'm pretty sure he's adjusted to the seasonal switch by now.

Yeah, I guess that's why guys like Patty Mills, Matthew Dellevedova, Ben Simmons, Andrew Bogut, etc. sucked so bad in college. Oh wait ..NO, they were awesome...
You're being ridiculous. Tons of athletes and students from the Southern Hemisphere come here all the time. They adjust just fine and quickly (it sure as hell doesn't take three years). None have ever blamed the seasons for poor performance or screwing up.

So how do you recruit a player in that way? Hey we'd like to have you mainly for practice to help out higher ranked recruits get better and maybe in your 3rd or 4th year you may get a few minutes here or there. I'm being sarcastic, but it is a hard sell in this day and age imo.
