Cal needs to start recruiting super 3 stars. You can’t have a roster full of 5 stars, or low 3 stars. You need super 3 stars that turn into 5 stars after 2-3 years. The fact that Wynyard is still playing like a 3 star, and not only that, he’s now a suspended 3 star is completely on Cal.

Duke has 12 or more scholarship players and basically plays 6 or 7 guys. The other 5 don’t see a minute unless it’s garbage time. So you could apply the same logic to Duke or any other team.
How about 4-stars that turn into 5-stars after 1-2 years instead of 3-stars that turn into 5-stars after 2-3 years? Or how about a bunch of 2-stars that turn into 5 stars after 3-4 years? Maybe some 1-stars that turn into 5 stars after 4-5 years (redshirt)?
