Yes of course that is right. But the second round can pay too.I guess the bottom line is that if you’re drafted in the first round it’s a 100% certainly that you are getting paid. If you aren’t, it isn’t.

It’s a rob dauster article. From 20186 x 30 = 180 players
I’d need to see the link. No chance 70% of 2nd round picks are getting guaranteed deals.

And we got about 40 points of production in his career out of him. Glad we made out on that one.Vanderbilt got 5.9 over 4 years. First 2 years guaranteed for 2.4 or so. Third year was a team option. And he was hurt.
The season will not be cancelled. If the college season is cancelled the NBA season will be too.
That is because we are the best. Get used to it or jump ship. The new players don't need everyone complaining and bitching all the time. Then why arent all decent players leaving every team? no other team is losing every player but 1 like we are.
They know U.K. players are trained to be nba players. Pat Riley said he loves to take U.K. kids because they are ready. Then why arent all decent players leaving every team? no other team is losing every player but 1 like we are.

Not saying they didn't make a dumb decision. None of them are NBA level players right now. Not even Maxie, in my opinion.
I just think with the uncertainty of the future based on this virus, the choice to return to UK was a much more difficult decision than rolling the dice on the draft.
You can get used to fans being upset or stop coming to this board. You know what.... if a player is such a puss that complaining about us losing everyone but 1 player gets to the new guys and affects them emotionally... they can go to the g league... we dont need softies hereThat is because we are the best. Get used to it or jump ship. The new players don't need everyone complaining and bitching all the time.

Finally a voice to tell us how to feelThey really did not have any other choice.
If they decided to come back and the season gets cancelled, then what?
Wait 2 more years to declare for the NBA?
Sure, some of them are taking a chance on not getting drafted, but they would be taking a far greater risk to their potential NBA careers if they decided to come back and the season gets cancelled.
And I think that is a very real possibility.
You don't think saying they are not very good is not bashing them. They may think otherwise.I see what you’re saying but who has been bashing the kids? Saying they’re not very good or have zero chance of being drafted isn’t really bashing is it?

Have fun Mr. Perfect. Then they need to grow up. I'm not going to lie and say they're playing well to coddle them.
If the college season is cancelled the NBA season will be too.
It can? So you’re saying it’s not a guaranteed?Yes of course that is right. But the second round can pay too.
The only players who get "guaranteed money" under the collective bargaining agreement are first round picks. Only ONE of our guys (Maxey) falls in that category. The rest are projected as either second rounders (Nick, Quickley and Hagans) or not to be drafted at all (E.J. and Whitney).
So doesn't that shoot your own argument in the foot for everyone but Maxey?
Not sure Whitney is one of ours he voluntarily QUIT the team
No, they had a choice. Most of them made poor decisions. And I haven't seen any bashing. Where is the bashing? Saying the kids made dumb choices isn't bashing. It's telling the truth.
Ok you got through to me with this post. Thanks for the perspectiveThey really did not have any other choice.

Absolutely, SOS. Most of the bashing I actually see on RR is directed at fans. Some of our fans interpret any form of critique against player decisions as an overall slight against the program. OP appears to be one of those types of fans who can't stomach the realities of a dissenting opinion.
He'll likely chastise us with the fervor of Congregationalist preacher for a while, and then he'll realize telling us to essentially "pipe down" only makes us want to amplify our positions all the more.
Then he'll fade into oblivion, and another Puritanical thinker will arise from those ever-present shadows of the Lurk Abyss and repeat the process.
Attempts at censorship never go well on this message board. They're often met with forms of written decapitation.
Duke, to name one example, is losing Carey, Jones, and Stanley. I'd take Brooks over anyone returning to their roster. Kentucky had three significant departures as well: Richards, Quickley and Maxey. Who else will really be missed? So why does the raw number of those leaving matter? Cal's probably secretly happy with all the departures except Quickley, Maxey and RIchards, but understands their decisions. Then why arent all decent players leaving every team? no other team is losing every player but 1 like we are.
What is Jeff saying? They really did not have any other choice.

Or still be able to play ball while getting an education to fall back on for free.Seems to me a free education and three square meals a day is worth more than hoping to get paid later on to play ball when there’s no guarantee. Not to mention top notch medical care and so on. And maybe improving enough to get guaranteed money in a year or two. Don’t make sense to me.
You link two things: Sticking around and developing. They don't necessarily go together. You’re telling me EJ Montgomery and Johnny Juzsng sticking around and developing wouldn’t have helped the team from a depth and experience perspective?
Right. Nick CAME BACK AND WORKED HARD TO GET BETTER. So did Immanuel Quckley. And PJ Washington. So will Keion Brooks. We all would have said the same “what will we really be missing from Nick” had he left last year and look how awesome he turned out to be for us this last season.
They really did not have any other choice.

But that wasn't the attitude of those who left, was it? They either thought they were already good enough and that wasn't appreciated, or they thought they'd never get good enough to start over the competition.
Do I think kids with those attitudes would be like Nick, and help the team? No.
Triggered snowflake, evidently. You know how they get triggered when they don’t get their way.Okay man, I was just legitimately discussing bro. That’s it. I’m not sure why you need to shout and get all upset and aggressive.
Please be well.

It was also the splostra saying thatThey know U.K. players are trained to be nba players. Pat Riley said he loves to take U.K. kids because they are ready.
How do you know that? The league was already struggling with how to pay players’ remaining contracts for what’s left of this season. It’s certainly reasonable to wonder if rookies would be able to get paid. Especially ones that get drafted in the 2nd round without a guaranteed contract.Yes. But the draft will take place as planned and those that get drafted will receive the guaranteed money based on the players agreement with the NBA.
If these players miss an entire year playing games, do you think they will better or worse after sitting out a year of competition?
Pat Riley has praised U.K. several times. It was also the splostra saying that
Yes. you said that....andPat Riley has praised U.K. several times.
racistSome of them made dumb decisions. Deal with it OP. Call a spade a spade.
