He'll fight for every dime of his buyout it sounds like. Alot of people will be hating his ass before it's all said and done. Can't really blame stoops though.

He's going to want to prove that this season is an anomaly and that he's going to get on the winning track, etc.
I totally get the principle of leaving on a high note, but I will be pleasantly surprised if he does. We're trending towards a 4-8 season (maybe 5-7 but I doubt it). Considering who we will lose to graduation / NFL Draft / Portal, a 4-8 / 5-7 season next year is probably our ceiling.
If he continues to struggle getting and developing as HS qb, he’s always gonna not get to the next step up in the conference
If stoops returns I think next year is worse, Kentucky is losing a lot and I would expect a lot of guys to transfer.

No wonder he and Cal didn't get along, Cal started to slide. All the eyes, pressure, expectations shifted to football. CMS was like "f*ck this...Cal ain't pulling his weight, but he's right these Mfers are crazy..."
Mark Pope saved the day. Ya boy Stoops can make 9 million a year now, for the most part folks, brass, boosters ain't going to pay attention.
All that offense we wanted in football...we're getting in basketball. Hell, we might even have a women's program now.
Him and Eddie can play run, run, run, run option with QB, run some more, play clock, punt, field goal...till their little hearts are content now. Don't nobody care.

Sure that’s what he’ll say with 3 games left of this season. We’ll see how this goes after he loses 2 of these last 3. Fans are starting to turn or he wouldn’t had to address this situation!

Agree. There are plenty of criticisms that Stoops deserves for the last few years. But there are 2-3 posters that take it way further than it’s needed and revel in an opportunity to trash our program.

I don't know how people expect Stoops to answer that question. Even if he had the opposite on his mind he's not going to say so. He still has three games left. He doesn't want players quitting on him because they hear he plans on retiring or leaving. He has recruits listening to his words. So I don't think it really means anything at this point.
I have to wonder how isolated Stoops is from the everyday UK fan. It appeared that Calipari was heavily insulated and thought everything was A okay with the majority. How'd that turn out?
No, he won’t resign. And I doubt he retires. I think he actively pursues another job though. And hopefully pulls a Cal and lets us out of the buyout.

I think the staff and NIL have brought in some really good players, but they have underperformed quite a bit the last few seasons. Especially on offense.
It’s the carbs. If you can taper them off little by little then you can drop the pounds quick. Especially in the evening. No more starches after 5
If we don’t have a good offensive and defensive line, it doesn’t matter who or what caliber players we bring in next year. If Stoops doesn’t make the line of scrimmage the priority in the transfer portal this year, we could have another Looooonnnnggg season next year. IMO

Look basketball is not where the money is hate to break it to people. Every school wants to really be successful in football, and being an SEC school we're reaping the benefits. I know us common folk think live and die by the basketball program, but Football is what brings in most of the money, and college basketball has been declining in popularity since the mid 2000's, the one and done culture and transfer portal I think will make it even worse, and honestly when it comes to revenue football is king.
Only one basketball program cracked the top 50 in revenue in 2022, and that was Duke at #48. Football is probably more important to the University and Athletic department at UK, Barnhart has to be feeling the pressure.

We are gonna get the sec money regardless. We don't (mostly) pull out weight to earn it. I don't think anyone actually feels basketball is gonna generate more revenue than football almost anywhere.
Yep, and that is what it is all about. Mitch only invested in football once he figured out that the university could make mass amounts of money from it. I really do not think he gives a single crap about whether or not the program is successful beyond doing just enough to keep the money flowing.
