Stoops and Marrow should be ashamed….

At the lack of any resemblance of depth in our QB room. It’s only the MOST IMPORTANT position on the damn field! It seems that ever since Stoops has been here if we have to got to our backup qb for any reason at all, we always see a qb that looks like he’s never touched a damn football before?

For all the great things Stoops has done for the program, this is an area that’s consistently terrible and needs to be addressed. And while I’m bitching, please to GOD hire a damn special teams coach!!!!
I agree but what do you expect when our offensive philosophy is ground and pound. What good QB wants to play in this system? I do think Coen will change that.

One thing I leaned today; don't buy bowl tickets until you find out who's actually going to suit up and play. I spent some serious money for this weekend, and this is what I'm rewarded with. I feel gypped.
Kentucky fans are treated with tremendous disrespect by the administration and the coaches alike. Putting this type of product on the field and asking fans to support the effort financially is the essence of disrespect. I agree. Buy the bowl ticket only in the event that all players are opting in like Bryce Young

I learned my lesson. That was worse than sitting through my girlfriend's kid's pee wee football games.

Why did Mitch give Stoops a salary bump? Dear God. Nobody would come after him. Now we are stuck with two idiots as head coaches in the biggest sports.
Don't forget the bad hire for women's basketball
Common denominator is the idiot a.d.
Fans are just wasting their $ with these clowns in charge, because no one cares about the fans anymore

Sheron against South Carolina looked 10x better than Wade. There is no reason he should not have had a chance today
He should’ve played today no doubt and maybe he does marginally better, maybe not. but we’re also romanticizing Sheron because today was so bad. CRod ran for 120+ in that sc game to keep it from being all about the qb. And his qbr was 30 that game.

Today we had 39 non Wade rushing yards. That’s not a formula for any next tier qb on our roster to succeed

I’m not trying to say sheron would have lead us to a win. But holy crap man, after two pick 6s and Wade looking lost, you have to give another guy a chance. I’m sure Wade is a great guy and he may end up being a good player for us, but not changing quarterbacks after half just tells me they didn’t care about winning the game and that sucks

-sheron had 56% 178 yds 2 td and 1 int against scar. 30yds on running plays.

^kid should've been the starter today...unless he told the staff he was transferring *before* the game.

-ultimately this is a meaninglessness game...but people spent good money to watch this shit product*. It's shameful.

*offense/st....the defense played their butts off.

Kentucky has really only had one quality qb in stoops entire tenure and he was so afraid of our offensive line he didn’t want to play today.

We have had game managers for the last 11 years other than will Levis and have had the best run in Kentucky football history, at least for sure in my lifetime.

The difference in the last three years is the back-up is division 3 level quality. The first 8 years there wasn’t much difference between qb1 and qb2.

If we are grooming Wade to be our number 2 then we will be lucky to win a single game if Leary gets hurt next season.
I don't know how others can't see this. If Leary stays healthy then I expect we'll be pretty good on offense. If he's out, even for a game, we're in deep doo doo. We HAVE to find a quality backup in the portal. Can't go into another year with no backup plan again. Plus, Leary is injury prone and our OL is a turnstile. A recipe for disaster if we don't get a backup.

We all love Kaiya, but his ceiling is strictly limited. Whereas Destin is a completely unpolished player, but one with physical gifts that may allow him to evolve into a weapon at the position. Being honest about that fact is no slight against Kaiya.

Disappointed they're WASTING ANY OPPORTUNITIES for the other QBs to get meaningful PT. So tired of it.

After 2 pick 6 plays, and 0 scores of your own, get the other guys some snaps.
I know and understand the saying, if you have 2 QBs then you do not have one. However, i view it like a pitcher in baseball. If the guy doesnt "have it" tonight, you go to the relief pitcher. At least in FB you can bring the starter back in

He was injured a lot at NC State 04

Other option is find a Benny/crod to hand the ball off to or Lynn Bowden type and change the offense.

Kentucky didn’t build what they are on a great qb, just imagine if we consistently get a great qb.

Both have basically played one game in college. I didn’t see anything today that makes me think Wade has physical tools Sheron doesn’t have.

Yeah it is really quite remarkable and under discussed that CMS has not recruited and developed a qb from high school in 10 years…

Inherited Patty…then pushed him out to put Barker in too early which got him snapped in half in the swamp…DB never physically or mentally recovered…ever since it’s been transfers that some how gritted out wins despite poor offense coaching, development, play calling, etc…

Non of the guys that are legit found, recruited, developed from high school ever make it to QB 1

I think they both show flashes of good things. But not enough to win right now. And my opinion does not matter.

I don’t think he pushed out patty, I think barker was truly better than him and patty saw that, barker getting hurt has nothing to do with stoops but definitely ended his career. He actually had the talent to be the first success, but it is crazy.

The only time in my life Kentucky has been bowling it seems because they had a generational talent at qb.

Lorenzen, couch and Woodson and they were all Kentucky boys.

Now we haven’t had but one qb close to that level and been bowling how many years in a row? Stoops has built Kentucky to be disappointed in a music city bowl and that was with the best qb he has had here.

You take the good and take the bad with him. But his bad is way way better than the average Kentucky over the last 50 years.

Really? Wade is bigger, stronger, a better athlete and has a better arm. Kaiya might be a little more accurate at this point but he doesn't have any physical traits that just jump out at you.

Wade reminds me a lot of Joey Gatewood in the sense that he has a good physical frame and is much slower with his feet than we were led to believe. Both also have slow deliberate, deliveries and super raw with QB intangibles.

Sheron reminds me of a more mobile Maxwell Smith. They have similar frames, kinda lanky and not the strongest arms. The limited physical ability limits their ceiling as an SEC QB.

I don’t disagree. I’ve just seen a lot of Sheron being clearly better and stuff and I’m not sure he is. Maybe he is marginally but we can’t equate his circumstances in a home game vs sc with Rodriguez and what the circumstances today were.

I have no idea if sheron would have been better or not, but it’s hard to imagine him being any worse

-sheron looked quicker/better feet against sec speed than wade looked against Iowa.

^people keep saying wade is an "athlete"...don't see it. He may have some straight line speed...but he looked slow/cumbersome in the pocket today.
People kept calling Joey Gatewood an athlete but he was painfully slow in the pocket too. I was really disappointed in how slow Wade looked today. I've read he was raw as a passer but was a standout runner in HS. Well they must've played weak competition in HS because he is not a fluid runner from what we saw today.

Really? But Sheron hasn't ever even been considered a dual threat qb while Destin was universally evaluated by recruiting analysts as a big, physical athletic qb that could play a number of other positions as well.

Not disagreeing but finding a quality QB who is happy being a backup in this transfer/NIL age will be very hard.

I don’t see much arm strength difference in the limited time we have seen them. Wade has a wind up delivery that might be a problem. Wade is probably stronger physically but he didn’t look all that fast or elusive. Sheron looks quicker. Neither look like effective running quarterbacks so I don’t really care which is faster. The arm talent at this point looks similar with Sheron maybe slightly better. It’s early so a lot can change but I don’t see any physical attributes that Wade has that makes him a better quarterback at this point that Sheron doesn’t have.

Agree to an extent with this, but where I can see Wade's arm strength and physical frame (disagree that he's as immobile as Gatewood, that's a high/(s)low bar) there's nothing there that jumps off the page at all with Kaiya. His absolute ceiling is "game manager" in the most limited sense.

I don’t think at this point you can say what the absolute ceiling is for either. In terms of passing ability, Sheron is every bit as capable, if not more so, than Wade. I don’t see either as affective running quarterbacks.
