Saban lost a lot of staff, too, and AL didn't seem to miss a beat. Of course, Stoops isn't on the same planet as Saban. But, good coaches and programs have staff turnover. They seem to maintain. We haven't.

Buffano is a waste. I'm not thrilled with Collins but let's be honest outside of looking back for the ball how can we expect any DB to cover anyone when we are giving them a 8 to 12 yard cushion with absolutely no pressure on the QB. Mike Stoops should have never been hired. It shouldn't have been allowed to hire that close of a family member. UK hasn't had a good o-line coach since Schlar. Yenser may have been a good coach but he couldn't recruit. Wolf is a waste. He sucked at USCjr then he came to UK for 1 year and our o-line hasn't been good since. Sure he supposedly can recruit but he can't coach or evaluate who needs to be playing. He goes to Bama of all places and their o-line suddenly was bad last year. And let's not get started on the OC problems. At this point after 12 years CMS has had his chance. He has been allowed to hire his coaches and outside of very few they have been failures. D1 football is cut throat and is no place to be hiring friends and family members.

He’s been hiring hometown guys and buddies. It amazes me we haven’t ended up with Tim Beck somehow and he beat us.

Few things: Buffano is the Safeties coach, Mike Stoops coaches ILB, think Wallace, Pop, D'eryck Jackson. Collins has quietly put CBs in the NFL for the past few years. OL development was hamstrung by the failure of Goodwin, Bingham giving up football, Hall having career ending injury. Those happenstances wrecked one whole recruiting class. Can't really anticipate stuff like that, sometimes it's just bad luck. Granted, these guys have warts but it comes down to Stoops not having an offensive identity and poor recruiting. Stoops deserves a chance to fix this mess, can he? Plenty of doubt, one has to think if he could fix it he would've by now.

I’m excited about basketball too, but we have no idea how Pope is going to do yet.

I like Stoops, but it’s just different now after NIL and the A&M debacle.

I want to be able to enjoy basketball and football. Is that too much to ask?

Stoops has an excellent rep as a DC, somebody would grab him in a heartbeat. Question is would he take a DC job? Have my doubts.

I do think Eddie Gran really brought out schlarman strength in run blocking along the oline. We struggled til Gran showed up,and then we started mauling defenses. I believe Gran was the best running game coordinator we ever had. The passing game just really struggled, but I don't really think it was on him. I'm convinced stoops practice structure and culture isn't a environment that QB and WR will thrive in!

Stoops is a poser and a dishonest one. His paycheck is the same win or lose. He finishes his contract here and he will retire never giving UK a second thought. Barnhart is the reason for these contracts that cannot be justified. AD Barnhart should be fired for awarding stupid contracts to Calipari and Stoops. Barnhart doesn't want another coaching search this close to his retirement, so he dishes out the big contracts to keep bad coaches here when they don't deserve it. Stoops is given the big contract, locking him in, underperforms and tells the fans to "pony up". Stoops is a simpleton and a bad coach. Sorry to say it and I wish it were different.

I was always in favor of keeping Gran. I have to believe at the very least continuity would have been of significant benefit.

Passing game looked amazing under barker the one half before he broke his back.

Gran stayed loyal to hinshaw and our qb/wr coaching suffered. Due to perception, stoops and gran agreed to make a change and our offense has only been really good for one season since.

Is it me or is there something I'm missing? Our OL coach was at UK, left for Bama, returned to UK and now both UK and Bama's Olines are insufficient, neither running the ball well or protecting the QB very well. Being from Youngstown must have some advantages
