Stock Advice Thread

Nike stock has doubled in five years.
I understand, but has barely moved the last 6 months. I’m glad you and trueblue are in here, what are you buying lately? For everybody, any skittishness about closing the border? Trueblue is right about a big correction of cannabis stocks eventually coming, but there’s money being made currently on several stocks and I’m not scared yet, but can’t be greedy, maybe hold stocks like CGC for the long term because the company has financial backing. Just my opinion, as I’m diversified.

Personally, I’m buying mutual funds in tax advantaged accounts and holding them for years and years.

Boring, and highly recommended.
Look at this guy taking safe easy returns it's almost like he's predicting an upcoming bear market. Ok thats sarcasm just so were clear, and a bear market is coming just like winter in game of thrones, but you can be an autist like me and swing trade while times are good and try to max them tendies. You like options? Put gamestop to hell. You want to scalp the market every early morning with risk but high upside? Buy Amazon Calls. You like to swing trade? Grab some AMD when it drops to around 22-25 mark that stock jumps and dips like a cow over the moon.

Patient and wise, good for you, I started that way, did better with individual stocks until I didn’t...too old to change now!

You and Dayton should have some great options’ chats here!

The major chunk of my portfolio is boring and getting even more boring is my strategy.
Same here. I'm even looking seriously at corporate investment-grade bond funds, likely Vanguard, later this year.

On the equities side in the TD Ameritrade account, I've beefed up my position in NWL. Still hoping for a breakout to 18+. Holding on to T and F, mainly for the dividend.

Buying CTL DRiP like crazy ($200/mo). Backing off GIS a little now that it's appreciated nicely (+20%). Still giving DBD and KHC lots of future consideration on the DRiP side.

LQD is the ishares ETF that mimics the corporate index while VCSH is a short-term corporate Vanguard ETF. I have yet to dig deep into the Vanguard choices on the mutual fund side but I'm interested in those and the TIPS. Muni's as well possibly.

DBD has had a nice rally this year but be aware that they suspended the dividend last year. KHC has done very poorly the last couple years but the dividend has been safe. If the free cash flow is dwindling, hard to say if this is the case in the future.

Thanks for the info. DBD was a DRiP legend for decades. Apparently the Nixdorf merger may have been too much. Fundamentals not looking good. I'll certainly give it some thought.

Seems the high PE tech stocks getting hit today?

NBEV just made a deal with Walmart. Up >35% today. Bums me that I own too little. But, oh well, profit be profit.

After looking at its profile, I’m too old to understand those drinks, good purchase by you!

Morgan Stanley issued a report today that Apple could do $300+ Billion in annual sales by 2027 on just health related products and services.

It will be several years before we know if that is a reality but if it comes close then the current stock value is pennies on the dollar of what it could be.
Couldn't believe it stumbled the way it did a few months ago. Buy dem dips.

Absolutely. Analysts will pump it for a year or so then drive the price back down. It's become predictable. Creates a great chance to buy though.

The huge thing is that they are also buying and retiring their own stock. Wouldn't be surprised if they take 200 million off the table this quarter. Unless they are saving up to buy another company.

They have serious cash on the sidelines. Maybe buy some kind of healthcare provider tech portal like Teledoc (TDOC). Only 4B cap.
Maybe. Saw a rumor a few days back of TNDM, Tandem Diabetics, around the same cap.

Of course Disney could be had with their cash along with either of those.

Shares of Tandem Diabetes Care(NASDAQ:TNDM), the maker of the t:slim X2 insulin pump, rocketed 50.8% higher last month, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. The stock is up a whopping 1,490% over the one-year period through Friday, March 8. :eyes:

Extreme low cost, high risk play......more of just a fun play.

Sproutly Canada (SRUTF) is a very small company supposedly in talks with a big beverage company to make marijuana infused drinks. Currently going for $0.64/share right now.

I’ve bought and sold a few OTC cannabis stocks over the last month, really want to hang on to something until it soars or gets purchased. The ones I still hold are OGRMF (watch their eps report Monday) and IIPR, a US company, and a thinned down CGC. I may buy CWBHF if it drops to $20.

OGRMF is a billion dollar company now.
Great day for DIS, the banks, industrials and oil after a big merger.
Feels good to have patience finally rewarded.
Be glad when OGRMF and others trade on the Nasdaq, have made a nice profit but really volatile, as are most cannabis stocks.

End of year investments prior to April 15: Happened upon a 3.68%/40-month CD (Roth IRA) through Navy Federal Credit Union back in December last year. Not excited about 40 months, but have since added to the original investment. If eligible, one may park some cash at rates well above T-Bills and for a shorter duration. Anticipating on a rollover in 2022.

Considering another deal through Capital One. 2% money market with a $200 bonus on $10K+. That's 4% total for one-year on $10K. May pull the trigger next week. Doctor of Credit offers more details. I really should start my long-promised side-hustle thread.

Ready to pull the trigger on another small tranche of BSV, Vanguard's Short Term bond index ETF. Already own some in the misses IRA. I'm ready for more after a new contribution. Today it was yielding 2.1% I think but in her account we need more maturity options than just the short ones. Ready to shop around.

SLGWF Slang Worldwide for marijuana investing. They make the best gummies (District Edibles) and the best vape (O.pen).
Bought some of the stock you mentioned, don’t use the product, vaping and edibles very popular per my relatives! BTW, you need to come to the board more, remember you from when I first came to this fine thread!
