State of 2022 Recruiting

Michigan had been leading for pollard. Now possibly D'arco. Caldwell has already been on campus since clink got there and took down is commitment link to UK. UK most likely are out on these 3. Stewart is taking visits. Had an unofficial to UT last week and said he was def going back according to a report. UK should hang on to the other 2 DB commits but the other commits and top targets at DB are not looking as good. Crazy how fast things can change
Thought we had a good chance with safety BJ Blake? At corner Mikeece Jones looks like a possibilty. How about Deshaun Lee and Marcus Allen? Surely the new coach had at least one player on his list he can swing that can play here.

My point was the top targets have completely changed. They had 4 commits and were in good shape with a couple others. Not saying they can't find someone different. There are plenty of other DBs. Last year they missed over and over at MLB then coaching changes let trevin Wallace fall right in their hands. He was better at least ranking than all the other misses. Just crazy how fast things change

Do we know if Goodwin is taking his officials to other schools? I remember word about that when he committed but also saw he was in Lexington this weekend.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. Thought somebody might chime in on some more good possibilities.

I know he visited Michigan State awhile back

It’s been since May 10th for Rembrandt90’s last post on this forum.

Now that’s curious. The first announcement of Clink’s hiring was on May 11th.

Here is the content of Rembrandt90’s last post on May 10th:

“Good post. Steve Clinkscale is a free person and can do whatever he wants. He has been very successful in Lexington. He is valued at UK, and UK's administration will fight to keep him. This seems like a dangerous time to join UM's staff. UK fought to keep Vince Marrow and succeeded. I expect the same outcome with Clinkscale. But you never know what is on another person's mind.”

A strong endorsement of Clinkscale, that couldn’t have been said better than by Clink, himself?!?!?

I’m not saying Rembrandt90 = Clinkscale, but Clink might have been his source, in some fashion.

I thought the EXACT same thing....

Rembrandt has been wrong more than right. He is still saying zero chance we get Wandale. He has no sources.

Interesting and completely out of left field. Maybe the guys on HOB heard but I haven't heard of this kid until now.

[Edited when I saw others had referenced Antonio Hall].

I wonder how many O-line we take? Baer looks very possible, and Hall would be Number four.

I hope I’m dead wrong: Hell I argued with Rembrandt90 more than most. We’re both pretty obnoxious Cats.

But his join date of June 2018, sounds a little too close in time to Clinks’ hiring in late’16, especially combined with his lack of posts lately.

COME BACK REMBRANDT90 . . . and I promise I won’t misspell your moniker or argue as much in your threads!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he just switched screen names, again.

This weekend's visits will go along away in determining the OL class for UK. As Ryan Baer appears set to make a decision in the coming weeks it appears he will choose between UK, MSU, and UVA. I know MSU has gained some steam as they have had some picks for Baer, but J-Row, Graf, and Josh Edwards all have picks in for UK and until that changes I feel pretty good about the staff's chances of landing Baer.

Drew Bobo is also visiting this weekend and at one time it was believed the staff could have pushed for a commitment if they wanted Bobo in the class. But now with Auburn and some other offers it appears he could be leaning Auburn as his dad is on the staff. Nikolas Hall will be visiting this weekend as well and if the visit goes well, the staff should feel good about landing a commitment from Hall as he wil be on campus twice in the last month. He currently has a CB logged in UK's favor. Baylor and Texas A&M along with ASU are teams to watch with Hall as well.

Grayson Morgan will be visiting this weekend too, he visited Maryland earlier this month. Along with Morgan, Hunter Mclain will be visiting as well. I'm not sure how high Mclain is on UK's board just because they are recruiting at such a high level right now for the OL. It's clear this class will be defined by the OL.

Lastly, Aamil Wagner has listed three front runners in UK, ND, and OSU. Academics are really important for Wagner, and at this time it could be a coin-toss beteen UK and ND. With OSU slightly behind. Daughtry Richardson will also be deciding next month, it appears FSU is the leader with UK running behind. As of today I feel good about an OL class of Goodwin, Bingham, Baer, and Hall. With another or possibly two coming from any of the recruits listed above. These coming weeks and the next month should provide more clarity on the OL picture, but no doubt the staff is positioned to have a great OL class.

Kalib Perry an instate kid from Great Crossings picked up an offer this week as well.

When class of 2022 Manual High School running back Jawaun Northington parlayed a strong showing in a University of Kentucky football camp Tuesday into a Wildcats scholarship offer, it provided a special thrill to someone who holds a singular place in UK sports history.

Jawaun “is my father’s brother’s grandson,” former Kentucky defensive back Nate Northington said Wednesday. “I don’t really know him that well because he’s much younger, of course. But I’ve been keeping up with him.”

In 1967, Nate Northington, of course, broke the color line in SEC football when he played for Kentucky against Mississippi at old Stoll Field.

Well if players at other school are even actually passing tests, it’s not because they’re all natural. It’s likely the failed tests aren’t reported or players are tipped off when a test might come. It’s the game within the game of all major sports. I’d wager very few starters at the P5 level are truly natural, certainly not at the Clemson/Alabama tier or the Georgia/OU tier.

You are speculating, no, it isn't likely failed drug test aren't reported, a failed drug test requires the athlete to test clean for a year, they aren't given by the school's medical staff either. Bama has used them but they have backed off a little the last few years, Bama players always looked bigger faster and stronger than anyone they played, and regressed as the season went alone. Early season they were juiced out of their minds, were backing off, performances dropped and come combine time all those guys that looked bigger, faster and stronger were actually smaller, slower and weaker. But that has changed the last few years. You need to know the symptoms and side effects PED's cause before making blanket statements. Under Urban UF's players were basically swimming in them, but not so much before or after.

That conversation already passed. Also doesn't belong here
