That is technically incorrect.Hendrix is not a “one hit wonder.” He was an FM radio act - an album act, not a singles act. A one hit wonder is an artist who has only one song that people know.
That source did not say that.Hendrix released four studio albums and all four were Top 10 in the US and Electric Ladyland went to number 1. So your source saying that he “was not very popular” is idiotic. There was a big difference starting in the late 60s between album acts and singles acts.
That album had 3 or 4 big hits: although My Sharona has certainly outlived them all.My Sharona

You must have forgotten the gem “Glamour Boys”. It’s amazing the same band sang those songs.Cult of Personality
Living Colour
How "What's up" became a hit is beyond me. For me, that's the worst song I've ever heard. It has zero redeeming qualities and the singers voice? Up there with Yoko Ono as the worst female "singers" ever in my book.

Did I miss "Baby Come Back" in this thread? It practically created Yacht Rock.
This is one of my favorites.
Someday I Suppose was big enough to not warrant them being called a One Hit Wonder.
Eric Carmen also had “Hungry Eyes” and “Make Me Lose Control”. Loved the latter. Not to me, but it's a cool song. I tend to think of hits not just as hitting in the top 40 but for longevity, local popularity, and air play at the time.
That cover by The Hollies above was huge for over a decade where I lived and with the families we knew back then. A lot of military families. My dad, like a friend of mine's dad did as well, carried one of his siblings to school and home again daily when they were kids. Song means a lot to both of us and our families to this day.
Will always be that way while I'm still breathing.

All By Myself
Was a one hit wonder like that for me as a kid as well. Didn't hear another song of his I liked much, though he had a hugely popular one in the 80s I think.
Long Cool Woman??
Rafferty has tons more hits.
I am waiting for Sympathy for the Devil to show up.The Hollie’s were not a one hit wonder. They had many hit songs in the UK. And were very well known as one of the British Invasion bands of the mid 60s here in the US. This was a top 10 hit in the US…
As was this one….
As is Power to Believe. I like me...my customers like me, cuz what you see is what you getLife in a Northern Town is a nice song.
Player. The iconic Yacht Rock tune. The one by Player or some other song by the same name?
