Spin-off: Best one-hit wonder ever

Hendrix is not a “one hit wonder.” He was an FM radio act - an album act, not a singles act. A one hit wonder is an artist who has only one song that people know.

That is technically incorrect.

"Yes, Jimi Hendrix is considered a one-hit wonder by the strict definition of the term:

  • Definition
An artist who has only had one song enter the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart

  • Hendrix's hit
"All Along the Watchtower" was Hendrix's only hit, reaching number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1968

Hendrix was known for his experimental sounds and blues-rock, which was not very popular with teenagers in the late 1960s. He was also better known as an album artist. "

Hendrix released four studio albums and all four were Top 10 in the US and Electric Ladyland went to number 1. So your source saying that he “was not very popular” is idiotic. There was a big difference starting in the late 60s between album acts and singles acts.

That source did not say that.
